Start a conversation with him and see what he likes to do that you also also like to do. After that conversation, maybe you can arrange some of your friends together with the guy and his friends come out for some activity. From then onwards, the group have to reduce slowly, in the end only both of you go out together.

the answer here is DON'T. As cliche as this is, men like it when they can take the lead in a relationship...and to do all the work yourself doesn't set up a good foundation. Men dig chicks that are hard to get...so be a good friend to him first, maybe flirt a little bit, but resist the urge to ask him out.

Start talking to him is always a good way to start. Be honest in your conversation, but steer it towards a date. If you do it well, he might not even notice that you have asked him out before he accepts.
The other option is to just straight out ask him.
