Can you get your earrings out of the drain when they have gone down it... by yourself without asking the guy in the living room, can you change a tire, can you pump the gas, can you build the shelves, can you program the VCR, the radio, would you rip up the pee stained carpet in the house and drag it to the dumpster, do you own a tool box with all the essential tools to to the above things, if your boyfriend got you a drill for your anniversary would you know how to use it and be excited to get it, do you call Daddy to come get you if you run out of gas, or do you hoof it to the gas station. Did you answer yes to all of these... (except the calling Daddy one) then you are a strong independent Woman. Congratulations!

a strong and independent woman does not need anyone labelling her as such. she is free of others opinions. read and be well versed in general knowledge. intelligence is the key to self confidence. once in a while, walk up to a guy and chat with him, his awareness of your intellect will never make him think lowly of you but will make him respect you unconditionally.

Putting out never hurts. Also, try to spice up conversations with phrases such as, "Women shouldn't vote," and "Who would like a table dance?" whenever the opportunities present themselves.

You'll be on your back in no time.

A woman who can sacrifice the images and pressure from society to be the independant woman they want her to be. Instead, she dares to be a person who will live and die for her children. She raises them herself rather than dumping them at the babysitter (who may be immoral, a molester or an abuser). She feeds them and clothes them. A strong, independant woman is the one who can dare to stay home for her kids, who need her so desperately. She provides them a sense of belonging that makes them feel safe and secure so they don't look elsewhere for it. She is there for them physically and emotionally at all times. She spends more than 3 hours a day (from 6pm - 9pm) with her children. She is capable of providing unconditional love.

This strong, independant woman you speak of has a very special and unique name that no other gender can hold. She is MOTHER.

The same characteristics you would find in a strong, independent man. Unfortunately, because strong and independent are not usually adjectives that we associate with femininity, women who are strong and independent are often labeled with unflattering names. A lot of it depends on the person who is actually doing the labeling.

Confidence not arrogance. Lack of confidence shows insecurities of one's idea.

Problem solver. Able to solve problems on one's own instead of always asking for help.

Can take care of themself without being dependent on others.

Ability to communicate clearly one's opinion instead of dealing with unneccessary items which are bothering them.

Confidence without being arrogant. Financial security, but don't be a tightwad.
Calm in the face of stress, kind without being too mushy, DO have a sensitive side, but don't be a crybaby.
Be decisive, but don't be nasty about it.
