I don't like it, but I'm stuck at 17. Is there any way I can get a student loan; I have a cosigner, but I haven't found any place that will accept me.

There's also something my college told me has been done before, that a student can apply and qualify for a loan and not sign the promissary note until their 18th birthday; I'll turn 18 in time for them to accept that plan, but not quickly enough to have it ready at the beginning of school. Does anyone know of a company that does this? Thanks in advance

ask someone to get a loan for you and you make the payments on it. i.e. mom or dad gets a loan on their line of credit at the bank and you take care of the payments. Also, ask your college about stafford loans.

Stay away from student loans. Well, stay away from more than a modest 5-figure loan. Someone I know is dealing with close to $200,000 debt, and it's a nightmare. It's not something that'll go away with a bankruptcy and the interest keeps accruing.

If you can work part-time or go for the government grant, both fed and state, and scholarships, go for all of them, so even if you do have to resort to a student loan, it won't be that much.

Did he take out the non-public loan on your education? if so, it fairly is the way it is meant to be. no longer all father and mom may have sufficient money college. With student loans you regularly do not might want to pay until eventually you graduate...except you drop out. If it became on your preparation it is your duty.

Just go to your local bank. There will be loan options there. Usually the loans don't have to be paid off until after you complete college.

www.fafsa.gov I got one when I was 17, but you need your parents' tax info. Or talk to student aid at your prospective college.
