Nice question, I have been posing that question to people for 19 years just to get them to think for themselves. Although I didn't know how we truly came to be until a couple of years ago, I did know that the adam and eve concept was just not logical and also a lie. What I have learned now is that adam=males & eve=females, the humanoid model before us was genderless when the a reptillian alien race found this planet, they are galaxy explorers and empire builders, very technologically advanced in all areas. They pretty much rape planets of it's energy and natural resources, they use the inhabitants or natives to do all the work. So with the ability to manipulate DNA they split the old model humanoid into 2 genders and added some of their own DNA to the mix creating automatic slave breeding humans of today. They made the humans believe that they where gods that humans worship today for the purpose of control and manipulation. The african race was the first race they designed for the purpose of manual labor, the white race was the last and apparently was more like them in behavior, some of them mated with the some of the whites and this is where royalty and sacred bloodline comes into play. There is alot to this but it may shed some light on your question, I have included some very informative info and let you be the judge.

Adam and Eve's sons married and had children with their sisters. In these early times, It was God's plan to populate the earth, and moral or even medical issues did not apply. Later, when numbers increased, God brought in the issues. Because Adam and Eve were created perfect, there was no initial requirement to have to die, and they were capable of many things that are even now beyond our comprehension. This is proved by the account of Nimrod and the Tower of Babel. Genesis ch. 10. They were too smart for their own good and thought they could do 'without' God. So God stepped in, confused their language and scattered them. A Bible explanation of why so many languages. And the fact that there are people on nearly every scrap of land indicates that they had very good knowledge of seamanship, travelling all over the world. Our latter day explorers are really coming in second.

Well, when a man and a woman love each other very much....yeah, the others pretty much said it. Incest. Kinda crazy when you think about it. Although, after like two generations by today's definition it wouldn't be considered incest. Think about it this way though, even when inbreeding does occur, what happens? Birth defects, and since they were the first family on the earth it wouldn't even be a big deal, who's to compare themselves to?

And to kinda delve deeper into this (I don't know if anyone cares) the theory of evolution does not disprove the Bible at all. Couldn't God have created the world through natural means and put evolution into motion in the very beginning? Some people say no because it says in the Bible that the world was created in seven days, but those are seven days to the Lord who has existed forever, I seriously doubt he operates on the same time frame as us...

Well ok, when a man and a woman love each other.....I'm sure you have heard the rest.

Anyway, lest you think that all of us coming from 2 people is all that farfetched, Yahoo! had it on about a week ago, I guess , that a pair of statiticians had determined that EVERYONE on the earth today shares a common ancestor no more than 5000 years ago. Their statistics indicated it could be as little as 2000 years ago. Basically, they used historical events, such as the spread of the Mongols, the Roman empire, the Muslim invasion of Spain, in calculating their figures. Their study meant that every single person on the earth is related, if you go back far enough. The black man and the KKK member. The Muslim and the Jew, The American and Chinese. Everyone.

There where no genetic flaws yet. A brother could have healthy kids from his sister.Later human kind deteriorated and God forbade inter-family marriage to prevent futher deterioration. Our laws today are based on that bibical fact.

In fact if you calculate the population growth from 6000 years back from 2 ppl, you roughly get the current population rate.If evolution was true, and we are around for miljoens odf years, we would be overcrowded by now.

By the way, evolution started out with one living cell. How do you explain man and woman fitting so well together they can have babies? Gen mutation are random and selected by environment. So how did man and woman ever randomly evolved together.

Lets for arguments sake say it did happen, then your still stuck with inter family relationships in order for the population to grow.

lots of incest?

The fact that everyone descending from ONE initial breeding couple (without complications) is basically impossible shouldn't worry people who really believe the bible story, because hey... the rest of it isnt much more plausible. Like the earth-covering flood that violates every law known to man (like the fact that matter cant be generated or destroyed, but there isnt that much water on earth to begin with).

Its the symbolism there that you need to read into. People 2000 years ago didnt know much.

Adam and Eve were never real. Moses made them up when he wrote the first 5 books of the Bible.

One might think that after the murder of Abel, only his guilty brother Cain and their parents, Adam and Eve, were left on the earth. However, Adam and Eve had a large family. According to Genesis 5:3, 4, Adam had a son named Seth. The account adds: “The days of Adam after his fathering Seth came to be eight hundred years. Meanwhile he became father to sons and daughters.” So Cain married his sister or perhaps one of his nieces. Since mankind was then so close to human perfection, such a marriage evidently did not pose the health risks that may imperil the offspring of such a union today.

Adam was cast out of Eden into an unsubdued earth that was cursed to produce thorns and thistles, there to sweat out an existence, harvesting the bitter fruits of his sin. Outside the garden, awaiting death, Adam fathered sons and daughters, the names of only three being preserved—Cain, Abel, and Seth. To all of his children Adam passed on hereditary sin and death, since he himself was sinful.—Ge 3:23; 4:1, 2, 25.

Consider, for example, the often-raised problem about Cain’s wife. At Genesis 4:1, 2 we read: “In time [Eve] gave birth to Cain and said: ‘I have produced a man with the aid of Jehovah.’ Later she again gave birth, to his brother Abel.” As is well known, Cain killed Abel; but after that, we read that Cain had a wife and children. (Genesis 4:17) If Adam and Eve had only two sons, where did Cain find his wife?

The solution lies in the fact that Adam and Eve had more than two children. According to the context, they had a large family. At Genesis 5:3 we read that Adam became father to another son named Seth and then, in the following verse, we read: “He became father to sons and daughters.” (Genesis 5:4) So Cain could have married one of his sisters or even one of his nieces. At that early stage of human history, when mankind was so close to perfection, such a marriage evidently did not pose the risks for the children of the union that it would today.

Seth may not have been the third child of Adam and Eve. According to Genesis 5:4, Adam had “sons and daughters,” some of whom may have been born before Seth. Seth is worthy of note because Noah, and through him the present-day race of mankind, descended from him, not from the murderous Cain. At the age of 105 years Seth became father to Enosh. Seth died at the age of 912 years.

Well, they had sex together and made a whole bunch of little boys and girls and then they all(or most of them atleast) had sex as well and made more babies. Back then it was okay to have sex with your brother or sister just to let you know. And after Noah and the great flood his family pretty much had to start that over because Noah's family were the only ones who listened to Noah and went onto his arch and survived.
