You are doing fine. Recommended weight loss is 1 to 2 pounds a week so you are right on target by losing 4 pounds in 2 weeks. Studies have shown that if you lose it any faster, you will gain it all back plus some. Sounds like you are on track with exactly what you are doing.

Most any doctor will tell you that losing 2 pounds a week is not only healthy, it's the ideal speed for keeping it off. Losing weight rapidly through a starvation or deprivation plan actually slows down your metabolism because your body reacts to the lack of food by trying to store what little bit of nutrients it gets, which means that you may lose that 20 pounds quickly, but as soon as you start eating like a normal person again, you'll not only regain the 20 you lost but probably even more because your metabolism won't be able to process the intake. Stick with what you're doing - you'll be much happier in the long run, I promise.

Here is what I hear you saying:

*I wanna lose like 20 pounds in 4 months
*I lost 4 pounds in 2 weeks
*I am slightly overweight and need to lose the weight
*I went and stayed at my aunt's house and ate no junk food and swam each day.

And here is the answer: YOU are doing great! You are losing the amount per week that you are supposed to be losing, and you are doing it the way you are supposed to. There is no magic to it...nor does it have to be hard. I mean look- you cut out soda and some junk food and swam each day. I mean how hard is that?? And THAT is all you need to do! Keep it up, you'll continue losing about 2 pounds a week and in another 8 weeks or so you will look and feel great. And it'll all happen without starving yourself or taking some magic pills!

We all want to lose it fast but four pounds in two weeks means you're probably doing something exactly right. My doctor told me that two pounds per week was best. You'll be much more likely to keep it off. I've found that any kind of "diet" other than simple healthy eating is a waste of time. You can't keep it up forever and all the weight comes back. I just try to control my eating one hour or one day at a time.

Simple exercises have helped me a lot. As you exercise you may not actually see a great loss on the scale because you'll be building muscle and getting rid of fat but that's what makes you look better in the long run.

If we only didn't need food to survive and if chocolate wasn't so yummy this would be so much easier! Good Luck.

Diets don't always need to be terribly strict. 4 pounds in 2 weeks is very good! Anything more than that would be considered unhealthy; doctors and dietitians suggest that you lose no more than 1 or 2 pounds per week, regardless of weight and body size. So you're losing weight the healthy way, which will be more permanent than, say, if you'd lost 10 pounds in a week.

If you're looking to tone up AND lose weight, try running. 5 days a week, plus some weight lifting, will provide you with really quick results. It's cheap, too (and I'm all about cheap): all you need are a shirt, shorts, and a pair of running shoes. No membership to the gym required; just run around your neighborhood. :) Good luck and keep up the good work!

A healthy weight-loss, is generally ONLY 1-2 pounds a week. Here's something to remember, "The quicker you lose weight, the better chance that it'll come back double"

The longer it takes for you to shed the pounds, the more likely you will be able to keep OFF the pounds.

This is a sensible amount to lose. The best diets are where you lose up to 2 pounds a week. It may seem slow but a faster weight loss will go straight back on. The key to a successful diet is determination and patience and eating less calories than you burn, so increase your excercise too.
Just think in four weeks you will have lost half a stone and by Christmas you could have lost over two stone. Good Luck

2 pounds a week is a healthy loss. Any more than that and you're putting yourself at risk.

A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
The correct way to burn fat and stay healthy is to burn more calories than you consume
You need to make sure you are eating healthy foods while still excercising
If you have a big appetite drink plenty of water so that you will feel full but not consume calories
But you should always eat
If you start to skip meals you will only be more hungry at your next meal and probably eat way too much
Remember, the average persons stomach is as big as a slice of pizza scrunched up into a ball
So you shouldnt be putting more food into your stomach than what fits
Also, it takes aproximately 15-20 minutes for your brain to realize that you are full
so eat slower and you will realize sooner when you are not hungry anymore
