I never really thought about this before. The Bible says that when God made the animals, he made them both male & female right up front. But he made only Adam alone (unless you count the other creation story, a few chapters earlier, where he makes Adam & Eve at the same time). But he did make the animals the day BEFORE he made Adam (or Adam & Eve, depending on which story you subscribe to).
But assuming the second story, the rib story, was right...Was making Adam alone a (gulp)...mistake?? Since he forgot to make Eve, even though he had made everything else male & female? Or did he think making all those other females was a mistake, so he didn't initially make an Eve, only an Adam? Or maybe he was just tired from deisgning & creating all that, well, everything, in less than a week?
Thank you, this question will give me hours of idle speculative enjoyment.

No, remember Eve was the last God's creation all the animals were created male and female except man because was self-sufficient because was created with God's image and likeness. But God saw that there was no suitable helper for Adam. So the LORD God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the his ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to Adam.

IF God may have made Eve from airborne dirt and dirt a twin of Adam then adult males and females people does not have a God given image of toghetherness. This is going to instruct that God knew a guy may favor the significant different of a lady. the actual undeniable actuality that she replaced into made from his rib places female neither more suitable useful nor in the back of a guy, yet particularly at his facet as his helper.

God only took the rib out of Adam to make Eve...not the animals. He made the animals male and female....it doesn't say anywhere in the Bible about Him taking out ribs from male animals to make females...

adam was created in Gods image, a complete being containing the male and female qualities at least mentally and spiritually ...thats how i understand it. When he fashioned a woman from adams rib he seperated out the feminine pschy and gave her female functionality as any other animal, reproductively ....im sure adam was pleased. So Adam wasnt originally created like animals male and female seperately....he was probably in the garden of eden for quite some time looking around at all the animals getting their freak on then looking at himself and wondering what the deal was and that looked like alot of fun lol...so God decided to hook him up so he didnt feel left out ...im just guessing hehe...no scriptural basis for any of that...

there is no indication from bible that God did that.
the act of getting a rib from Adam to form Eve has a spiritual meaning.....
Christ is the head of the church, Adam is the head of Eve, its the feeling of belonging.
Adam know one of his rib formed Eve and he increasingly love her because of that, he knows something from his fresh is hers now.
Just like we tends to love our family members more then strangers.

you betcha. not many people know this but before jesus came aroudn and redesigned the universe everything looked like legos. the reason god took a rib from man was because...well...come on....legos. it was far easier than having to use those little single blocks to create a rib...then a skeleton...then the muscles...then the skin...it was just easier that way!

Yes, especially the amoebae. He was especially cruel to them.
I've heard that on some planets he created women by robbing men of one of their legs. But this created an inconvenience as they were then unable to compete within the ecosystem and were made extinct by chimpanzees.

Yea... God created Adam in his Image, then realized that men could not spontaneously multiply like he could, so he created Eve?
