...that read "I'm not a believer. Please respect my choice", just like the sign some Christians have at the front of their houses? Would you refrain from trying to convert us? And what if EVERY person wore a sign that stated their religion? Would that end all attemps for everyone to convert anyone else?

Go for it. Wouldn't change anything that Jesus commanded us to do.

If you want to wear a sign, go ahead. Many times non-believers wear their sign on their faces. I can see misery and anger from a block away.

If you are passionate about your religion, it may give you reason to want to share it with others. Converting is up to the other person, not up to a pushy believer who talks too much. You may consider what you hear to sound wonderful and positive, it should be!

Believers should not be trying to convert anyone from one religion to another, but rather sharing their good news and testimony of how they were "saved" by Christ.

Just hearing that there is a great reward out there with a world full of love should be enough to open anyone's heart and want to listen.

I've never tried to convert anyone; because I believe it's your choice! What difference does it make whether you where a shirt with a sign on it! If you are a person - that cannot appreciate that we live in a diverse society with all sorts of faiths and beliefs; you are so inadequate in communication with others that you need a Tee - shirt or sign to state your beliefs - I'm not interested in communicating with you anyway on anything! You've already communicated to me your inability to communicate your thoughts through spoken words - I wouldn't want to convert you to anything! You can't handle what's you're already a part of - Life!

We would respect it just as non-believers should respect our freedom to express our beliefs. First and foremost, we do not try to convert anyone, if we are true Christians, as it is not in our power to convert people. As one who follows Christ and his teachings, it is our commission to spread the gospel (truth) of who Jesus is and what He did and does for us - so we are to be living examples, by our walk and talk of who Christ is. I am quite aware that many people are from very organized religions and shove their organization at others and beg and plead without actually representing anything that makes one desire the virtues of Christian living - that is the unfortunate side of Christianity being both what Christ has truly called us to be and the organizations taking the name and using it to identify themselves as though it would bring honor, when all it does is make people like me have a much more difficult time truly ministering to the needs of others with out preconceived notions of my intent. I hope this has been helpful for you to understand the difference in I, as a Christ follower, and the religions who use the name of Christianity to take your money, put your name on their rolls, etc. And I do respect your choice to not be a believer, even if I do find it to be a sad choice to have made. Thank you for respecting my freedom to share with you.

I certainly like your first sign but all it would do is attract more of the mindless little fundies who try to make a 2000 year old book of folk tales a historical document.

Actually, there is not a single story or event in the Bible that was not taken from stories predating monotheism.

BTW- Christians do not DARE to pray for me. I would rather spend eternity in my faith's hell than in your heaven if the likes of Bush, Falwell and Robertson are there.

From the point of view of a Jehovah's Witness, it would make things quite a bit easier. A sign on your door or yourself, totally your decision, and we would not have to return again and again, giving you chance after chance to possibly change your mind in respect of God's requirements. He really loves people so much that he will keep on asking you to change your mind about Him. See what Luke 19;40 says...
” 40 But in reply he said: “I tell YOU, If these remained silent, the stones would cry out.”
So if WE did not knock on your door, the very stones in your garden would.

The sign is not necessary. We respect your choice, so does God. We cannot change your heart, we only plant seeds. God can change your heart. We just want you to understand what you are up against if you chose to reject God. But of course you do not have to believe any of that what we say. It is about free will.

I'm a non believer and i already wear a sign-black clothes and makeup,"evil"music and quite an attitude that automatically tell Christians to leave me alone......it works pretty well,no more church groups are coming to my door and i get more respect for being me.

Unbelievers wear all kinds of signs that show they aren't "christians". Pentagrams, crystals, Native American spirit symbols, etc. This doesn't mean you can't discuss your viewpoints simply because someone expresses themselves with a symbol. Whether your christian, pagan or whatever, once you've closed yourself off to open and honest dialogue, you've tagged yourself with the very labels you abhor; bigotry, self-righteousness and intolerance.

Someones religious beliefs or lack thereof just add to the entire package. People are more than just agnostic, christian etc. Cant we just agree to disagree and move on? It's okay to believe in whatever you want. We live in America, diversity is what makes us special.

Acts 4:18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
