Wake up to the reality dude who is annihilating whom? Your question should have been, "Should not US stand up for the rights and defense of the helpless?". What planet you live on? Must be out of this world or i am sure else you never bother to read the news yourself.

If Isreal is being annihilated by muslims, then it is there own dayom fault. I really don't want to send my kids & nephews/nieces to fight in a world war over a piece of land that I couldn't give 2 cents about.
I have nothing against the Jewish people. I am friends with many people of the Jewish faith and enjoy their personalities, stories, and generous hospitality. I also have tremendous respect for the Jewish Faith.
But, why they decided to take that 'god forsaken' piece of land that they call Isreal... is beyond me. Their decision to retake their 'promised land' after losing it 1000 years earlier is their own problem. If they can't defend it their ownselves then they will have to go somewhere else. Give them 1/2 of Florida... its bigger.
Why should we get involved in a 2,000 year old war that we didn't start?
Lets Speculate:
If Venizualian Monks decided that their religion was based in Oregon and they started a legal colony outside of Portland around what they called a 'holy place'. All of a sudden... all of Venizulians wanted to move to Oregon, but US Imigration finally said NO... You Can't Come In. (And Keep in mind that the Venizulaian's Holy Book Said That God Has Chosen Their People To Live In This Spot 35 miles east of Portland). So They Revolt against the US, Sieze Private US citizen's land and fence it off then contracts with CUBA to help militarizing it. Would you (as an American) be Ticked? Now Keep In Mind that this is a problem between the US and the Venizualians... why should the Japanese care? And Would You expect the Japanese to send troops?
The Same thing goes between the Isreali's and the people who used to live in the areas that they occupied. Its between them. The US needs to stay the f--k out of it and get our nukes back from the Isrealis before they glass-over southern Lebanon and get us into World War 3!.

No the U.S should not intervene! We can barely protect our own borders and docks let alone Iraq AND Israel. History tells us that the strongest armies win. Let them settle their battles...
