Is it dangerous to sing and take anti-histamines? I heard is was because of excess mucus and such.

I mean like Clariton or somthing like that, that contains anti histamines.

First, contrary to the above answers, antihistamines (Benadryl!!!) are not only for external use.

Secondly, anti-histamines (H1 and H2 Blockers) are not known to be related to mucous production, which is controlled by mucin.

The only danger could be a nonspecfic histamine blocker could cause drowsiness and you'll fall asleep while singing!

Dangerous? No. But another remedy for mucus is to mix some lemon juice in water and drink as much of that as you can take.

I dont see how an antihistamine would make it dangerous along with singing. An antihistamine relieves itching and inflammation and is usually for external use only.

well if mucus is your main concern water water water! it will flush it right out and because its thinner.... if anything, singing, coughing, yelling will help get the mucus out .... thats why babies are encouraged to cry when they are born
