I use a lot of gel for my hair and in the pass there has never been a problem with shampooing. However, I just switched to Pantene Pro-V 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner (the Stornger Hair formula) and I notice that everytime I use it (which is everyday), my hair ends up all sticky afterwards. I tried washing it three times per shower and it's still sticky afterwards. Does anyone else have a problem with this shampoo?

Anytime you use a lot of hair products in your hair, you need to use a cood clarifying shampoo, and if anything, a mild conditioner, separately. Suave sells a daily claryifying shampoo for just a dollar a bottle and it works just as well to rid your hair of buildup as any expensive brand.

It's also not necessary to use a clarifying shampoo all the time. Just keep a bottle on hand and when you feel that your hair needs it (like now), then use it for a week or so. You should be able to continue the use of your regular shampoo afterward without problem.

It could very well be the shampoo. People always talk about product build up.. but Pantene shampoo builds up. It is filled with wax and is probably coating your hair so it is not getting clean. For a quick fix, wash your hair with dish soap.. it will get the residue out.. for a permanent fix, take a trip to a salon and buy a good shampoo and conditioner.

Oh, and by the way, if you are using a lot of gel in your hair to achieve the look you want, you are using the wrong product. Product should be used in moderation and a little should go a long way. Find a stylist who knows what they are talking about and ask them what product might be better.

Yeah, Pantene is terrible to begin with.
Also perhaps you are using a bit too much product in your hair, but you arent going to get sent to hell for that.

What you need is a deep cleansing shampoo, but don't use it every day, it will dry out your hair. Try not to wash your hair every day either, every other day just rinse it with water.

If worse comes to worse... use an abrasive floor cleaner haha. Thats only for super extreme circumstances!!! (Like a cream cleanser floor cleaner, nothing with bleach).

Ok, on a serious note. Pantene shampoo, in itself is abrasive, however the conditioner puts a silicone coating on the hair, which in turn could be what is making your hair sticky.
Change to another shampoo. Preferably one from a salon, and you may need to invest in two. One for deep cleansing, one for general shampooing.
Good luck.

never use a 2-in-1 for hair with lots of gel. Those shampoos are meant to be much gentler on hair. Try using the pro-v formula individually, and it should be better.

Sounds like you have product build up in your hair. Try laying off on the gel, and the conditioner. Maybe just try shampooing for a while.

FInd the Shampoo Prell and put some baking soda in it, it will strip your hair of all the gels and stuff. works great a hairdresser told me about that. I use a lot of stuff on my hair, it's long and naturally curly, so I use a lot of stuff to try to control this wild stuff. And if you can't find prell shampoo. I know that a clarifying shampoo strips your hair of all the nonessential things in your hair. I use a clarifying shampoo because I have well water, works really good. Hope you get your hair fiasco worked out!

Pantene sucks.Hate their shampoo.
I use Enjoy hair prducts, exspensive but good quality.
You can only but at salons and beuty supply or online. Their MASK conditioner is THE best.

Seperate the shampoo and conditioner and it should be okay. Don't buy them in the same bottle.
