I'm asking this general question mainly to girls because I've wondered about this and I've gotten several answers. Some girls tell me that you should become friends with em first but not long enough to get yourself into "the friend zone". They say that makes first dates alot easier cause you can focus more on having fun rather than trying to get to know the basics of someone. I'm usually the skeptic about this approach but I've thought about that and it makes sense cause you'll have more fun and there's already chemistry there. One girl told me that 75% of marriages started from friendships. I don't know.....what do ya'll think?

oh and these girls also say that being friends first and I'm not talking about the "friend zone" takes alot of pressure off the first date.

People are better lovers/mates/spouses if they were friends initially.

I don't ever date guy friends, so I'd say just go out on a date. The way I see it, if you start dating your friends...well, it could get very complicated and even ruin the relationship. Plus, if you screw things up with your date, you don't even have to deal with them except on the date of course, but friends....you have to face the music with them about the award situations and that can become intense ( later on). I just find it weird dating your friend and all;getting to know someone as a compatible date instead of going through the friendship can make the break-up easier or the relationship better, because you don't have to worry about "I have a crush on my friend and I don't know how to tell them, it's weird cuz he/she is my friend"crap.

Don't become friends, just get to know her a bit so she's familiar with you. Being close friends could make the situation a bit awkward and you'll know everything about each other, you should wanna date someone you know not much about so you can explore each ther and have probably the rest of your lives to do so.

The chemistry will be there when you meet her, becoming friends will be easy, then ask her out. She will date you without hesitation... just be yourself.

my hubby and i were friends first, it makes for a stronger relationship, and makes the begining of your relationship soooo much easier and better!

Yeah, don't become close friends, or good friends, it'll make EVERYTHING awkward and it won't work, trust me, I know. Get to know them, but don't take FOREVER. Just ask.

IT BETTER TO BE FRIENDS FIRST, THEN THE PRESSURE
IS OFF, AND YOU WILL DO A LOT BETTER DOWN THE ROAD
WITH SOMEONE THAT YOU CAN JUST HANG OUT AND GO
FROM THERE.
