When I dream they seem to always be nightmares. I wake up in a panic or coldsweat and they occur almost twice a month. Should I be concerned and maybe consult to a psychiatrist?

When you have a nightmare, have you seen something that day that could have either triggered a memory or that was disturbing in any way to you?
Are there parts of your life that you dont like and constantly in the back of your mind? There are many different reasons as to why you are having these nightmares, twice a month is nothing that you should be worried about, however considering your waking up that tells me that they must be very vivid and disturbing to you!
There is no harm in seeing a psychiatrist, its good to talk to someone without a biast opionion, you get a sense of calm when talking! You could try Hypnotherapy or see a sleep Doctor!
Preferably I would suggest you see your GP first!

Although it's a good idea, you may want to start off with your primary care physician first. Not all insurance plans cover psychiatrist visits or medications (or have higher copays than regular general-practice MD's), so its worth a shot to talk it over with your doctor first. He--or she--may also be able to reccommend a reputable psychiatrist or even a sleep deprivation specialist.

I get nightmares when I'm stressed out or had a rather traumatic experience.
