Okay...I got sunburnt this past Monday and it was really bad. Burned, then blistered, then itched like crazy. Now my friend wants me to go golfing tomorrow and it is supposed to be sunny, hot, and humid outside. Should I go golfing or stay home out of the sun. I have been told if I spend the day out in the sun and heat that it will make it worse. Is this true? What should I do?

If I do go, what are some of the things I can do to prevent the weather from bothering me. Colors of clothing, more sunscreen? I plan on wearing a short sleeve collared shirt.

The sunburn has already started to go away. The itching phase (drove me nuts) ended a few hours ago. All parts of the sunburn will be covered by clothing and there are plenty of trees on the course. I think I am going to go if it is not too warm outside.

You would be putting yourself at risk for sun poisoning if you go out already having a bad sunburn. Usually when someone has sun poisoning, they have to stay indoors until the danger is past. I don't remember how long that might be as it was my sister who got sun poisoning.

Get some aloe vera gel and use it on your sunburn. It is one of the fastes things to heal any kind of burn.

If by this past Monday you mean a week ago and not yesterday, then you should be fine to go outside. However, having a bad sunburn puts you at higher risk to get another one, and puts you in danger of skin cancer if you burn often. You should probably wear at least an SPF 30 and keep the areas that were burned covered with clothing. If your face burned, you should probably wear a hat that will shield your face from the sun. A tightly woven fabric will protect you the best- if you can see light through it, then UV rays will pass through it as well.

Don't push it, man. You've already got areas of 2nd degree burn because of the blistering. That's bad enough. You don't want to find out what a 3rd degree burn is like... If I were in your shoes, I'd stay indoors until the sunburn has completely healed.

Sounds like you have sun poisoning. staying out of the sun is what you need to do. Try Coppertone spray sunscreen SPF 30
I use it on my children and it is awesome. Make sure you drink plenty of water and sit in a luke warm bath with distilled vinegar and soak your skin.
