I do not understand why my doggie is behaving badly? Could it relate to the visits to the pet-smart, where he leaned from other dogs on how to disobey the rules?

About a week of so ago, my pup started to go wee wee at one spot where was not the wee wee spot where I trained him to go. I read from some dog book, they said that the dogs have the tenancy of marking their territory to show other dogs that they are in a gang.

I do not want him to go wee there, but for some reason he sometimes still goes. (Even I was right next to him)

Any advises on how to put a stop to this?

Oh, my dog is a 7 months old, Pomaninan/ American Eskimo. 20 ibs.

I do not walk to dog, but I let him freely wonder around my apartment. Pls. Do not write back and talk me that I should walk the dog, and let the dog play with flees outside and catch some diseases and pass it to me. I like to keep my pets clean as possible, and that is why I feed a small sized dog. Since I am mentioning about small dogs... have you even seemed people’s dogs at a dog store? I recall one visit at the Pet Smart. I saw a dog’ s size as a horse, and the dog is 3times bigger than this petite woman. I can’t imagine when it comes to telling the horse dog to behave... who controls whom?

Anyway, going back to what I was talking about . . . Why would you want to walk a dog and bring in dirts, viruses, bugs into your home? Unless you are a filthy person then it is explainable.

I have seemed this dog owner walked his bull dogs in the woods one night I was jogging, Again I said to myself, yes those pit-bulls were having fun, enjoying the best time of their lives, but when they return to their home
and cuddle with the humans, and transfer whatever they caught in the woods. Is that good for your health?

If you say “yes” then why don’t you walk like a dog next time when you walk your pet? That way, whatever dirts your pet gets . . . you can get too! Especially, human spits! Humm... that is really clean!

And don’t write and tell me that I am a clean freak, who is afraid of germs, because I am not... I have my limits!

Somewhere in your question, you lost me at the bakery! Raise and keep your dog any way you want, but don't be surprised if he develops behavior problems from a lack of exercise. And you dog can get fleas and catch viruses from going to PetSmart, too!

Read some great books on training. (Try not to pick books randomly - there are a lot of bad books out there also!) These are some of my favorites and you can get them on Amazon.com

OK..Heres what I think..I understand the whole germ thing and wanting to keep doggie in-doors but like every living thing it needs excersize..Do you have a backyard that you know is clean. Some effort on your part is needed. When you come back from a walk wipe the paws down with babywipes . An animal that is cooped up in a house/apt tends to be very highstrung. The kind of dog you mentioned has lots of energy that needs to be quenched and regular walks..even if its in a pet store is better than none at all. Very glad to hear you took to a class. In regards to the wee-wee, that room might have to be blocked off and you'll have to get super-cleaner to get that smell out, regular soap and water will not do.

Dude get a pet you can keep in a cage. American Eskimos have over excited bladders. Sometimes they can not help it when they whiz. Plus they need to be socialized. There are other ways to keep a dog clean if you take him outside. Heartworm pills help with fleas and so do tropical medicine like front line. I use a combination on my dogs, also they have a doggy door. I don't have a flea problem. I give them bathes every 3 weeks and I use a spray on them between baths if they start to get odor.

you have some issues. All dogs go outside, you give them a bath once a week. Make sure they have their shots !!!! Buy the flea stuff for them , it works. Your dog is to big to let him go in the house and it's mean not to let him outside. His probably acting bad cause your not getting him out and pet smart isn't the place to take him if you are worried about diseases.

Eww!!! You let your puppy pee in your apartment. That alone will probably give you more viruses then just letting it outside. They do have flea, tick, and heart worm medicine that you can buy. Put that on your pup & he'll be protected. You can also wipe its paws before you go into your apartment so it wouldn't get the carpet dirty. I don't know how to get your puppy to pee in that one spot. Hmm... Maybe it's because it's a puppy?

As he is 7 months old, he is just now getting his manly hormones, and it is common for them to act out at that age. it would have nothing to do with other dogs, but only his age. he is like a teen-aged boy.
Just be consistent and kind...Don't raise your voice when he does bad, but give many praises when he does good.
Sometimes when our pups are doing well, we forget to praise them for continuing to do well... then they relapse back to behaving as untrained
