Is it going *straight* up? Im assuming it is.

I think:
Its the same.

The speed going up depends solely on the speed that its thrown minus the effect of gravity.
The speed going down depends only on the pull of gravity and the weight, however, it can only go so high based on the speed that its thrown.

Gravity works with the same force in both directions. I think it would be the same.

I used to know more in depth physics. i realize now im really no help.

i would say up because everything and i mean everything falls at the same rate ( when you see paper it floats down because of the air resistance in the room but if you crumple it up it will fall the same speed as a 10 ton brick heh) check ya later ♥

They're the same. Unless on the way up, it's going faster than it's terminal velocity.
