I believe that once the government can traffic who is growing it and stop them, it will be legalised!
You just need to look at the figures compared to alcohol and tobacco to answer the question as to should it be legal.
In Australia Cigarettes are the leading cause of death with over 19000 a year. 2nd to that is alcohol, 9000+ deaths a year. There has been no case of death caused from Marijuana. The only proven fact is that it can cause schitzofrenia AND you must already have it in the first place as marijuana triggers it!
So with that in mind, the legilisation of Marijuana will happen I believe when the government can make as much money out of it as they do with tobacco and alcohol!

Legalizing marijuana would not solve problems with drug dealers or drug lords. Every illegal drug would have to be legalized for your ideas to come to fruition. But it's a tad more complicated than you could ever imagine. Legalizing marijuana would probably clear many incarcerated people out of prisons which would save taxpayers money.
Like alcohol, marijuana use should be prohibited on the job, while driving and during pregnancy. I don't think people should allow the sale of marijuana to be overly taxed by the government. It should be allowed to be sold and grown by small business owners and the profits should go directly to the business and tax that business like you would a pastry shoppe or a pet store.

as the people above already stated, legalizing pot will not deter drug dealers. If the marijuana were legal, a lot of people would come to work stoned and therefore a lot of other people would have to deal with the consequences. Smoking also causes lung cancer. No matter what you smoke, cigarettes, pot, etc.

I say have at. I don't do it. I did twice, of course, and I don't think you can really decide not to do it unless you try it.
Let 'em legalize it. One less thing to worry about... people killing people over getting more drugs.
And like alcohol, it should have limits.

Its business..
If they legalize weed.. Philip Morris will loose alot of money..
Simply because you can grow weed in your backyard and smoke it as is.
In the cigarette business you gotta put all these fancy stuff, nicotene, etc..

i think the government should legalize it and tax it that way they make money off it instead of spending money to try to stop it.
