g-string is that in the back...it is just a string piece of fabric going all the way down.
a thong is when there is usually some fabric either on top which is a v-string...or it is thick fabric all the way down

strap up the middle in the back of a thong has at least some width to it, although, not very much. Strap in the back of a g-string is just that, like a piece of string. Simple.

i wear boy shorts myself but i think a g string is just a string up the crack and a thong has a bit of material on the back but also goes between the cheeks

a thong is underwear that has a thicker piece of fabric that goes up the behind and a g-string is the same thing but the piece of fabric is a thin string they both hav the same purpose they prevent panty lines
