I've had a lot of trouble with underemployment lately and over 24 hours ago I "snapped". As far as I can tell, I'm having a nervous breakdown (shaking, IBS, dizziness, rapid breath, crying, anger, loss of apetite, etc).

Last night I only slept for about two hours and I can't seem to calm down and fall asleep tonight either. I should be flat out exhausted and just fall asleep but it's not working that way. I can't stop shaking. Can anyone reccomend something I can do tonight to help? Also what should I do tomorrow during the day so that tomorrow night doesn't result in the exact same issue?

Good God - I'm comparing my situation to being more difficult than anyone else's. That said, I can't just will myself out of this shaking. I just want it to stop so I can sleep. Too much to ask I guess.

I am so sorry for your disatisfaction right now. We have all been there. You do need rest to clear your head, and regroup, too. Tylenol PM or other pain meds with a sleep component helps me. Reading too, or watching a non action movie. A soft music radio station may do it too. Have a fan gently blowing on your face to assist your breathing. Also have some "White noise " (the fan will do) to help you relax. I suffer from panic attacks, and I set up my fan, soft music, and after a good cry, lie down and softly say to myself that "every thing will be okay" You can also buy a new sheet set, or break out a special comforter too. Do you have an old teddy bear from your childhood? Good luck to you in getting some zzzzzz's...Best wishes too.

You should go to the DR as you may be suffering from anxiety and a bit of depression.. There is nothing wrong with you if you are, sometimes things just get us down and we need a little help!

If you are the DR will give you some medication to help you calm down and sleep! Tell him about everything that has been going on. If you dont think its depression or anxiety, go and ask for a sleeping pill!

breathe, it's not that hard.... you are extremely paranoid, where the IBS comes from, I don't know.
Best thing for you to do is go get a job. You say you're under-employed, do something about it. Take all that anxiety and push it toward an effort to find a job you enjoy. Organize, make a list, get your ducks in a row... You'll be so concentrated on finding job opportunities you won't have time to panic.
AND DEAR GOD! DON'T take any drugs.... you're so frazzled you'll take too much.

Go for a walk on fresh air 3 hours before sleep... eat, even if you have no appetite... drink a cup of warm milk with honey in it, take a warm shower, light a candle, listen to quiet music, lock out noises from your room..... relax... breathe in, breathe out... and think like this: everybody loves you, everything will be allright, tomorrow is another day, nothing happened, after all..... and it is not the end of the world.

If you are not getting better after one night of sleep, go and find a councelor.

Talk to a pro about this (doctor) first thing tomorrow. For tonight make every thing comfy and listen to your favorite music while laying down with your eyes closed.(This always helps me sleep)
If you are having a really serious problem then you might want to consult a doctor ASAP (like now).
