Hey everyone, she's not crazy, I'm a licensed cosmetologist and this is a cheap and sufficient way to remove build up.. its something we suggest to clients who use cheap hair care products.

I wash my hair with baking soda once a week to get build up out. I found that this works just as well as a clarifying shampoo.

It seems that you are trying to keep your hair from smelling?? You said it wreaks??

What does it smell like? Are you not letting it dry sufficiently?

If it is necessary for you to do it more than once a week, make sure you are mixing it w/a good shampoo and using a good conditioner (the kind bought in salons, not in the store)

Baking soda is great for getting hairspray buildup out of the hair as well as gel buildup. Once a week is about all you should do it. (take some shampoo in your palm and then add 2 tablespoons of baking soda on top of it and emulsify it in your hands before putting in your hair. Lather, let it sit for 3-5 minutes, then rinse well. Your hair will have a funny squeaky, slippery feel to it. This is an ideal time to put a deeper conditioning treatment on your hair and let it sit for 5-15 minutes depending on what the directions tell you to do.

If you feel the need to use it more than once a week, you probably should look into changing the styling products that you're using. Cheap stuff usually builds up quickly. You'd notice a BIG difference if you used professional products on your hair.

there are various things. in case you will detect genuine cleansing soap shampoo (no longer the detergent that are all on the drugstore shelf), it relatively works ok. even nonetheless it is not solid in case you have problematic water!! you need to use toddler powder, or corn meal, labored by your hair on the roots. it is messy, yet while brushed out, it relatively works relatively nicely. some human beings use a crushed egg. it is going to additionally lather slightly... yet rather costly shampoo! I basically use a solid shampoo it is solid to your hair (Nexxus or Focus21 or Redken) and in straightforward terms use a tiny quantity. I in straightforward terms choose some million/2 a teaspoon on the terrific of circumstances... maximum folk use way too plenty shampoo.

Why do you use baking soda? I have heard of beer, mayonaise, coffee/tea (to color it), lemon juice (to lighten it), but never baking soda.

baking soda, salt will stick to your hair , make it sticky, look and feel dirty.
Sometimes even make it look white if it sticks to your hair.
What on earth are you trying to do.
