It doesn't cause a slow down, it just doesn't introduce something to boost it. Fruit is a much better source of energy than sugar or caffeine. Both sugar and caffeine cause your energy level to crash very quickly after they wear off.

the sugar in soda can give you a slight "sugar rush" that is temporary and then you may feel tired when that wears off. The caffeine in regular soda lasts longer. If it is diet with no caffiene, then there should be no effects either way. Be careful of some soda though, some (especially diet) are high in sodium. Try coffee, tea and flavored water also. Fiji bottled water is great tasting too,

If you are not getting the same amount of caffeine in a given day than usual, that might lower your energy level. However, decaffeinated soda will not lower your energy level whatsoever, especially not with all the sugar that is in it. There is no basis for you to believe it would lower your energy level if you are already getting the same amount of caffeine as usual.

caffine is only ment to boost you like a firecracker for awhile drinking too much leaves you feelin tired, non caffine just taste like ****, but the sugars in it will still make you a bit wiry just not as much. you wont be totally drained of enregy either unless its all you drink then ya your going to pass out. and probably go into shock and foam at the mouth and you head will go all exorcist and ****. its a mess i have seen it happened i laughed my *** off.

No.

You shouldn't encounter any adverse affects, unless your body has become totally relient on caffeine. Then you might just get a headache or something.

Decaf doesn't slow you down. Caffeine revs you up.
