Throughout our history, the latest wave of immigrants seem to be the ones who are discriminated against. The Irish were, the Chinese were treated abominably, the Germans, Polish (remember all the "dumb Polack" jokes?), Italians, you name it. The Puerto Ricans in the 60's especially were treated badly. People resist change. They suspect what they aren't familiar with. If they see someone with "foreign" ways, they're uncomfortable with it.

I have absolutely no problem at all with legal immigrants. I firmly believe diversity is what has made this country strong. I DO, however, have a major problem with illegals. Let them come in this country the right way, and I'll welcome them with open arms. Otherwise, they are stealing from us---jobs, medical care, you name it.

These things take time. I listened to a show on our local NPR station recently which described how 30 years ago Mexicans held lower economic jobs but over time they have fully integrated into america and are represented in most job roles and economic sectors.

But at the same time, as an immigrant, you must accept that you are fitting into a new environment, culture etc and that you wont automatically fit in without effort. Its part of the challenge

In my case, I find they are given at least the opportunity because some will work for alot less pay with or without skills and/or experience thus saving the company money (even if the company has a tendancy to have hugh turnovers). Along with that, immigrants will not be a threat to those in certain positions.

Legal immigrants are given the same opportunity to get decent jobs. As long as they go to school and get good grades, then they should get any job they want.

First I've heard about it .. if you can do the job, whatever it is, you'll be given an interview just like anybody else ... sometimes you get the job, sometimes you don't, just like American citizens ... I know quite a few legal immigrants, and I have never heard them complaining about that ...

human beings, you probably did no longer study the question, he stated criminal electorate. Sorry, the 1st component maximum of those human beings see whilst they study "immigrant" is 1st, unlawful no count in case you wrote criminal or no longer, and 2d, Mexican, after that they many times start up frothing on the mouth. they say a similar component approximately us in those remote places international places. "those smug Americaans" (tacky remote places accessory). LOL We do a similar component for each individual. incredibly people who're distinctive from us. it somewhat is human nature. however the "smug" American remark does have that is motives as a results of fact a lot of human beings, or our parents or grandparents, paved the way on that component. Feeling as though they could desire to be "accommodated" as a results of fact they are human beings and all and sundry could talk English and carry products they use interior the states. I actual have been embarrassed via my own countrymen and ladies human beings on that component on my own when I commute. we try to make human beings sense unwelcome on purpose, in maximum societies, as a results of fact, via human nature, we like the "familiar" the "habitual" and combat against something that motives abrupt replace. We, as a results of fact that we nonetheless have not developed above the "tribal" mentallity, we sense that our "components" are being comprimised and sense this feeling of lack of self belief whilst there is somebody new and distinctive in our territory (city, community, interest). that is intuition. regrettably, it will be many some years in the previous we are able to evolve above that.
