It really depends on what you want from your trip. If seeing different cultures with rich history is your thing, then I would say China is a good choice. (But be warned that it's not very clean in some places.) If you're just trying to get away from the winter, then definitely a tropical place like Phillipines or Thailand. I would say Thailand, just because it's safer, even though I personally had more fun in the Phillipines. If you're one of those people that have to have the latest technology, then Japan. I know people that make the trip over just to buy cool gadgets. And on the plus side, Japanese food is very foreigner friendly, in my opinion, as long as you stay away from all the raw seafood.

The best place to go during christmas is Singapore (if you dont mind the busy crowd)...The place looks beautiful during christmas...
But if you are looking for a quiet holiday, Singapore is not the place.

phuket, thailand...or koh phi phi, thailand. i was there for christmas last year, and i couldnt have picked a better place. the weather was amazing, some of the best beaches in the world...you couldnt ask for more. i actually went snorkeling on christmas day.
