The northern part of Israel has been coming under rocket attack for the last 5 years--sometimes intermittently and sometimes continuously. Right now, it is continuous. Israelis living in the north have been forced to live in bomb shelters--typically several families in small unfurnished rooms. Israel has been attacking rocket launch sites in souther Lebanon, as well as support sites outside the launch area in order to allow its citizens to live safely. How would *your* country react if its children had to be locked in an 8'x10' windowless room 24 hours a day for their own safety?

Sorry, Isreal has only ever been a peace-loving entity in theory; not in practice.
The land grabbed during the 6 Day War (again started under a very flimsy pretext) was intended to be traded off for peace deals. Looks like something similar this time; blatant, excessive aggression mis-labelled as self-defence. The essential civilian infrastructure is the first to go every time, so even when the (temporary) peace comes, the local population are ready to support retaliation of any kind.
The only thing that counts to the Isreali government and military is Isreali lives. No-one else has rights or feelings or is democratic, so why consider them?
Unconditional support for this arrogance is a matter of international shame.

I have simple answer for you, the answer is this, Israel is defending it's nation from terror attack.
More details,1) how can a group like ordinary hamas or Hezbollah will be challenging Isreal a state of it's own under the canopy of another state like Lebanon and Palistine 2) it is very clear that Isreal is fighting a fight due for the two other countries, 3) Isreal is helping instead or is there dual government on the other two nations?

Where did you ever get the impression that Israel is timid?
She is a peace loving nation and had not had one days peace since she became a nation on May 14 1948. When she was less than 24 hours old she was attacked by 5 of her arab (Muslim) neighbours. That was the 6 day war in which she not only defeated her enemies, but actually gained ground, good on her, serves the wicked muslims right for attacking her!
Israel Is protecting herself and defending her people.
Ehud Olmert was seen as weak by the Muslims but he is showing that she is not only strong but she will win as Israel is the Apple of Gods eye, and whoso ever curses her God will curse, and who so ever blesses her God will bless. Genesis 12:3
So those Muslims had better watch out as they are really fighting against the God of Israel and if they knew their history, THEY CANNOT WIN!

I don't know, but I kinda wish she would regain some of her timidity. The situation in the Middle East is already precarious; this new conflict makes the situation even worse.
I loved the country and am so thankful to have seen it when I did - who knows how much it's going to change within the next few years?

i'd be independent as plausible. i will attempt to be independent. in reality 1000's of years in the past, the israelites owned the land now time-honored as israel. for the previous 2 thousand years the palestinians owned it. after the warfare the jews kicked the palestinians into small wallet of the country and now they stay in terrible situations. there's a huuuuge volume of antisemitism interior the middle east yet why do u imagine its not often ever ttacked by using outdoors forces , pondering only how a lot hatred and boycotting there is..the US in reality money the state. on the different hand, ppl argue, israel has a accurate to the land, for non secular causes, and they owned it a lengthy time period in the past, yet then you honestly ought to say a similar about the aboriginies and local indians. in case you watch US media, ull get the israeli bias, and if u watch al-jazeera ull get the arab bias. so identity recommend staring at the BBC for my section and watch information shops on both area and be conscious what u can finish. playstation . inspite of what some ppl my inform you, both area have violated ceasefire treaties and both have blood on their fingers in quite some diverse techniques.

Here's the deal...Iran's leaders hate Israel...so they are trying to get Israel to attack a neighbor and rally the Muslim world against Israel....Hezbollah is funded by Iran and Syria...they started launching missiles and have captured some soldiers...now what is Israel to do? Hezbollah has no infrastructure to attack...so Israel is attacking civilians and their homes in Lebanon hoping to create enough pressure to get the world to help them in their quest to destroy Hezbollah....sigh...so who is paying the price for these idiot leaders - innocent civilians on both sides....BTW, Israel was founded by men who engaged in terrorist acts to achieve their means - bombing hotels and the like...because of their small size and support from the US Israel has always been quick to attack whenever they sensed they were in danger...Israel is often criticized for human rights abuses which they say are necessary to preserve their national borders and safety....they have in fact violated over 31 UN security resolutions...most Israelis are good people, most Palestinians are good people...they both come from the same source...but they are in the middle of a hate filled environment that is controlled by selfish leaders who use hate and fear to hold on to power...I often pray for them all.

Israel is fighting for it's Survival. It's never been timid, it took allot of grit & blood to establish it as a country to begin with. They are brave people, fed up with being disrespected, bullied, abused & killed.
