ok.. i m really confused with that.. i m tryin to lose fat and gain weight at the same time.. i m 5 feet 8 n my waiste is 33 with some disgusting fat on it.. its not a big tummy but has some really ugly fat on it.. then my buns r really a big problem for me.. they have too much fat that my rest of body looks very small.. whenever i start low calorie diet and aerobic exercise i start loosing muscle size as well.. what to do.? i recently bought a supplement called "MAGA MASS 4000" i heard that if i take low calorie diet along with supplements it helps to loose weight and gain muscles at the same time.. whats ur suggestion?

Well the best thing to do is to do a mixture of aerobic activities and muscle gaining activities. Going to a local gym would be a good idea. Taking supplements can't always be a guarantee. Eating healthy foods helps too.

Do some heavy weight lifting exercise to gain muscle mass.. and support it with Protein shake after work out.. And also go on a diet, because doin this is you goin on a diet and burning the body fat and not loosing the muscle mass..

I recommend Nitro Tech for your protein shake.. Highly effective!!

Is it possible to both lose fat and gain muscle at the same time? No, it is NOT possible, and I will not only tell you why its not possible, but I'll also tell you how you can do both, just not at the same time.

To lose fat, what do you have to do? You have to do lots of cardio, eat a low carb/low fat/lower calorie diet, and of course, lift weights. To gain muscle, what do you have to do? Do little or no cardio, eat a high calorie/higher carb/higher fat diet, and again, lift weights. Did you notice something there? Yup, they are complete opposites. Trying to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time would be like trying to sit and stand at the same time. It just can't be done. This is why most people who are trying to do both at the same time see no results and give up. So, then how can it be done? How can you lose fat and gain muscle if you can't do both at the same time? Simple, you don't do them at the same time. You do them in phases.

I call my muscle gaining, weight gaining, size and strength gaining phase the "bulking up phase." And I call my fat lose phase the "cutting up phase." The bulking up phase is the phase where my diet is high in calories, carbs, protein, and a little fat here and there (but only good fat of course, no fried food or potato chips or anything) and I do no cardio. This phase will usually go on during the winter. Why did I pick to do this phase during the winter? Because here in Brooklyn, New York, USA, its cold during the winter, which would be the best time for me to put on a bit of fat. Don't get me wrong here, its not like I become overly fat with a big gut or anything even close to that, I just get bigger. I will usually do this phase from October until around March. During this phase my goal is to gain all of the strength, muscle and size that I possibly can before its time to change phases. But then.....

But then it comes time for the cutting phase, which for me usually lasts from March until October, during the hotter, spring and summer months. During this phase, I will greatly lower my carb intake, slightly increase my protein intake, and my fat intake (which only really comes from fish, lean meats, and nuts) will stay about the same. The only difference will be that the weights I was able to lift during the bulking phase will start to slightly decrease during the cutting phase. Why? Because my body weight is getting a little lower, and therefore I am losing some strength. My goal during this phase is to lower my bodyfat and lose all of the fat that I gained during my bulking phase, and basically get those abs showing again.

With very few exceptions, losing a lot of fat and gaining a lot of muscle at the same time is very hard to do. That's because of the opposing demands these goals impose on your body.

To build a lot of new muscle tissue, your body needs energy. In other words, you'll need to overfeed — to consume more calories than you're burning each day. To lose fat, you need to underfeed — to consume fewer calories than you burn.

If you do try to do both things at once, your progress in either direction will be so frustratingly slow that it won't be long before you feel like throwing in the towel.

It would be nice if the energy your body needs to build new muscle tissue came from stored fat. But, when your body is in a predominantly catabolic state (which it will need to be if you want to lose fat), gaining muscle is not its main priority.

You can gain muscle and lose weight at the same time .Because your calorie intake will be down its not just about the protein.But i could be possible.

Stop eating junk food and start exercising. Simple as that. Expect to work a LONG time to get to where you wanna go. Forget all the trendy crap. Exercise, good diet and time. Guaranteed!!!

Go on a high protein diet helps build muscle and will keep you trimmed. And exercise.

Don't listen to those people that say its not possible to do both because it is.
