Thanks for the answers guys. No I don't have any warrants or anything like that, I just thought it was weired that he was more concerned with checking me out than doing the report. I see this is commonplace and your answers has calmed my nerves quite a bit. thanks again

I work in law enforcement ...trust me ...it is routine.
They do that on everyone.
Plus that the info on the driver's license and registration is needed to do his report so that you can file your insurance claim

*if you've ever looked at the accident report that an officer files...
it asks questions that can only be obtained by running your lic and registration...

This happened to me too...I was hit by a driver that took off when I was 7 months pregnant. When the CHP officer showed up at my home...he ran each person that had been in my car over the age of 18 for warrants, including me. I am white, a woman and living middle class. Good luck, hon.

I think this is common practice. I remember calling the police
one night about a certain issue. I was in my car at the time,
and the police ran my driver's license while investigating my
complaint. It seems that whenever you are in your car, cops
see this as a easy opportunity to invade your privacy. If you
called the police and they came to your house, they certainly
wouldn't ask for your driver's license.

Im white and I get harrassed by the cops all the time - had them stop me one night telling me that my car plate was stolen off a truck in Nc and I have SC plates! The fight was on - Then they wanted to know what I was doing so I told them I was cheating on my husband with my boyfriend and then they said I needed to have the car inspected (if it were registered in NC and not SC boneheads) then was told I had to register it in NC even though it was my MOM's car and she lives in SC. In the end they found out they were all screwed up and I only asked them if I could go back to cheating on my husband. I wasn't but they really irritated me - btw I am a white petite mother of three and the KIDS WERE WITH ME. Cops have nothing better to do but harrass us no matter who we are.

my truck also was hit while parked once and it was hit at work twice, again i was not around the truck at the time of the accidents but i have never had my info run before they found out what had happened, when they got the info they gave me a copy of the accident report case number and never even asked me for my id.

This is common. Just like if your in a car and someone gets pulled over, the passengers get to show their id as well.

yes it,s common, sometimes they get a hit, you never know. though you being black he might also run it because of that factor.. but i'll assume you had proof of insurance.. ect..and even if he did do it because he might have been profiling.. so what? does you feel that respect is due to you no matter what? if he has his views and they tend te be skewed towards racism, you cannot legislate that away, as long as you have your bases covered let him run th license and plates all he wants
