parents, lots of times, dictate which religion one becomes. If you love your parents, why wouldn't you want to follow in their footsteps and do as they do.

It is a basic and very serious question concerning man and a satisfactory answer might as well resolve many crisis afflicting the mankind. Belief is a reflection of the conditioned mind. The mind gets conditioned by data collected through the perceptory senses and gets processed into knowledge through experience. Wisdom is the net product after realisation, that is incorporation of the reality by identifying oneself with the objects perceived. The belief is not necessarily the wisdom and even a part of it.

The belief is the net product of our unrealised interaction with the surrounding which includes our parents, family, the society and the world at large which is synonymous with ones experience. So, we are Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Jews but ironically not human beings which should have been our first identity.

Beacuse it (christianity) is the only thing that gives me hope for the future, peace of mind (often but not all the time when I need it), and I simply feel more at peace when I'm trying to obey God through Jesus' teachings.
The church I go to now is called Jewish Jewels though it is a christian church (aimed mostly at Jewish converts)

Well I'm not christian, beacause its a falsified ( and corupted) religion. I'm not a Muslim because it has been corupted by people like Bin Laden. I'm not Jewish, because i'm not Jewish, and none of above because none of my ancestors came from the Middle East. So I don't follow that minor storm deity of the desert.

I am Asatru because it is the religion of my germanic ancestors, which makes it my natural and true religion.

for those who follow jehovah/YHWH/ Allah: God (Jehovah/ YHWH/ Allah) only became Omnicient and Omnipotent in the context of his own religions (Christianity, Jeudaism, Islam) In his original context he was part of the Summerian Pantheon, and a minor storm deity at that.

Aren't there enough wars going on right now everyone saying they are gods chosen? Why do you bring up a question like this? Just for some feeble confirmation that yours is better?

Because the evidence points to Christianity being true.

i was raise by a catholic family... was educated in a catholic school,,, my faith is deeply rooted with the roman catholic church... but that doesn't mean i am antagonistic to other people's religions, beliefs, or faiths... to each his own, and i respect that... that's how i am and would stay.....

PS... when i was in high school, my circle of friends (my gang) was compose of five people (me included) of different religion...

a buddhist, a baptist, a roman catholic (me), an atheist and an agnostic... but we were rock solid and respect each other's beliefs and religion... and thru the years, we still are best friends, we still keep in touch with each other, but never did we debated on whose religion is the best... i think if everyone could be just like my gang/friends, then wouldn't the world be more fun to live in? like what me and my friends have and still enjoying....

I'm Muslim because I believe that God cannot be human - He's a bigger force than that.

I am agnostic because it occured to me that there is no way to prove that God does or does not exist. I will search for truth for the rest of my life, and it is doubtfull that I will find it on this planet.
