They don't really "hurt"....but they are uncomfortable at times. You will get used to them. Make sure you buy the wax that you put on the braces so it doesn't cut up your gums. Good luck =)

Not really when they put them on. They tend to get a little sore, but after a few tightenings you'll know how to handle it. You'll want to bite on stuff, like a teething infant, but it'll hurt. Try motrin or something similar. Also, use this time to take advantage of not being able to bite into stuff- beg your parents for a good smoothie and milkshake for all your meals, and use your soreness as an excuse. lmao. It should get better within a few days. Hope this helps =D

Braces will damage in the course of the first 5 days and then you will be able to get use to it. whenever you regulate your braces, it is gonna damage for atleast 3 days. and do not take any medicine except your tooth are quite killing you because medicine isn't worth it. I mean like you are able to carry the discomfort in for some days. do merely not eat any form of food it is puzzling or something. medicine isn't mandatory. besides the undeniable fact that, once you're putting on the braces it would not damage yet once you get your cord replaced, it is going to damage fairly.

Because braces put pressure on your teeth, you might feel uncomfortable once in a while, especially after the orthodontist makes adjustments. If you have pain, ask your mom or dad to give you a pain reliever.

Here's a good site for more information on braces:

It really depends on how well you take pain. I have them and I haven't had many problems with them hurting, my brothers on the other hand always complained. Once you get use to them they will not bother you much anymore. When you first get them it will feel very weird and you will probably wear wax on your teeth for a while, helps not irritate or poke your lips, until you get use to them. The most annoying thing about them is getting food caught in them, I hate when that happens. Well hope I helped.

no they dont hurt. they do in the begining though a little bit. but you will get over it soon enough. they do however start to hurt everytime you visit the denist and he does work on it. but just remember that its all worth it in the end!

Oh, yes. There will be days (actually, nights, mostly) when you will want to get a pair of pliers and rip the blasted things OFF.

But...it is SO worth it! So, be patient and suck it up, Marine! You'll be ok.
