Every time I bring a cat home, my dog kills it. My last dog was a lab and didn't have a problem with cats, but I can't have a cat here for more than two days before Rosco chases it down and mauls it. Please help with some advice, I have gone through 12 cats in the past month.

but kittens are free and this is s purebred. I really want to have both cats and dogs, and it would be okay if it only took like 10 or 20 more cats to get it trained.

alot of animals need to be socailized
if you ever noticed cats fighting its probably because one cat lived there all its life then you brought another cat home
you should have tried cats when the dog was much younger i have a pit that does fine with cats kittens and ferrets but it grew up with them
i wouldnt recommend bringing kittens home since they are tiny but if you really want a cat try one more time but with a bigger one and let the dog play a few minutes things i would do though is put a sock collar on if the dog gets aggressive sap it it sends a sock wave that scares the dog and at lower numbers it is quite harmless also keep the cat in another room until the dog can get to know the cat if you must try but i wouldnt myself you probably waited to long and the dog probably wont change i would either decide on no cats or a different dog as a puppy with cats since pits can be aggressive u should socialize them at a very young age and be careful if the dog gets out and kills other cats or a kid then you will probably have a lawsuit on your hands

What is wrong with you?! 12 cats in 30 days? That's an average of 2 1/2 cats a day. Where are you getting them? The dog is a vicious beast and needs to be put down. Cats aren't going to be enough for him pretty soon. I hope you don't have kids or let that dog out in the yard--whether he's tied up or not. Anyone wandering near your yard is at risk.
You should be charged with animal cruelty for allowing this to happen. Sounds as though you have as much regard for life as the dog. Instead of getting another cat or another dog, get a brain and use it.

Unfortunately, you have a major problem. the problem is, once a dog gets the taste of blood on it's tongue, it's never the same. The dog will continue killing until it attacks a human, and that will not be good, because you will have to have to have the dog euthenized, and could possibly be prosecuted for the actions of the dog. You may have to eventually put the dog down, or get rid of him, because it's only a matter of time now before he starts attacking adults and children. I know this is not comforting to hear, but it's necessary that I be honest with you. You are dealing with a potentially volital situation here, and it is only going to get worse. Good luck, and try to keep anymore kitties from being senselessly killed by your dog.

Please tell me you are joking. 12 cats in one month! First no more cats until you can spend time with the dog and figure out if that is the only problem you have with the dog. For instance, does your dog obey you? Does the dog think he is the alpha dog or are you? You need to be but this is so upsetting I can only recommend you contact www.ngcdogwhisperer.com, Cesar Millan is the best at dog behavior, and he really knows the breed. Trust me the guy is great.

Pit bulls have a heritage of chasing and killing things, hence the bad rap. Obviously there's nothing you can do but not bring home cats anymore or find a new home for your dog. It's just mean to the cats, and if you saw it happen twice, why would you continue bringing them home?

Honey,
It's obvious that the pit bull has agression problems, unfortunately pit bulls are prone to it. The most humane thing would be to bring it to your vet or local animal shelter and have it put to sleep before he moves from mauling cats to mauling people which in most states he'd put down anyway.

STOP GETTING CATS OR KILL THE DOG. Once they have the cat in their blood they are cat killers so just keep the cats out of the house for their sake.

You likely can't. Pits have been bred historically for their aggression towards animals, and while some don't exhibit it, it's a risk that exists in the breed.
Do cats a favor and stop bringing them home.
Do yourself a favor and read up on Pits.
