Treat the cats with frontline plus, or some other vet recommend treatment. (at least during flea season). DON"T USE hartz or other department store flea treatment on your cat, you can kill it. Then you'll have to do several "bombs" to kill all the fleas. The first one to kill the ones that are alive now, and another in a few days to kill the ones that were eggs. Make sure to clean all the bedding materials too.

Frontline is great for fleas (it's good for kittens at least 8 weeks old). It's one of the best ways to get rid of them.

Yes, it would make sence they return after two weeks. All you killed before were the adult fleas. Very little to no OTC flea products are strong enough to kill the sac flea eggs are in. It normally takes two weeks for flea eggs to hatch into fleas. So the fleas you are seeing now are the eggs that were untouchable by your treatment two weeks earlier.

Your best option right now is to invest in a box of Frontline from you vet. You could also consider repeating your steps from two weeks ago (the bath, bomb, collar, etc). Then in a week and a half to two weeks, do it again. Any fleas that hatched in that week and a half time frame will be killed before eggs are layed.

Someone told me regular table salt is great for killing fleas too. Sprinkle some (not much, just a little) in your carpets. The fleas will eat the salt granules and it will dry them from the inside out. You should also put a flea collar inside your vacuum. Any adult fleas you suck up in the vacuum will die inside because of the collar (fleas will continue to thrive inside a vacuum bag and everytime you vacuum you will be blowing these new baby fleas back into your carpet where they'll turn into adults and lay eggs of their own).

I've had this problem before to. First get flea drops like Hartz 4 in 1 Flea and tick drops Plus +, or they might have Bio Spot (I purchase at Atwood's you can also get at a Feed store) They both kill fleas ticks mosquito's plus flea eggs and larvae. You need something to kill the eggs and larvae because fleas spend virtually all their life on your pet and they produce vast numbers of eggs, which drop off the pet and develop in the environment. Once you see fleas on your pet, there is already an infestation of pre-adult flea stages in your home. These products will break the flea life cycle and make your pet flea free. Also you need to treat their bedding with a flea spray which Hartz also carries and there is also a powder you can put on the carpets. You may also want to bomb the house after you treat them. I've had this problem with dogs hopefully I've helped you a little. Good luck. I've also tried Frontline,Advantage and others the Vet recommended and none worked the best is Bio Spot I've had the absolute best results with it. and it is reasonably priced

You take the cat to get it dipped in flea bathe and while they are getting dipped you bomb the house and spray the yard with outdoor flea spray.

Then when you pick up the cat use some flea repellent, and that will take care of the problem. They must be done all at the same time.

The eggs that the fleas are laying in your carpet, etc. are hatching out.

You need to get either a professional-strength poison that deals with the problem of the eggs, or get a professional exterminator in to treat your house.

Also, vacuum everything, then throw out the vacuum bag right away. The eggs will hatch inside if you don't. Keep the kittens inside until you clear your problem up, also.

You must remove any living space or bedding that these guys have had contact - inside and out.

This includes "dirt beds" outside, carpeting, and other inside fabrics. Bombs work as long as you match the room volume with the bomb and leave it for the recommended time. Good luck - it takes two weeks for the next crop to show up so you will have to battle them for twice as long...
