My hair is really straight, too. I use a couple of different products. First is Pantene gel. When your hair is damp, rub some on your hands and distribute it through your hair from the roots - not too much, though. Then I spray on Umberto Volumizing Thickening Spray, really boosts the scrunch. The I towel dry it a little, scrunching it with the towel, then finish scrunching it with my hands. I usually let it air-dry, finishing with the blowdryer on low to be sure it's dry, then comb and use finishing spray. It's not sticky or stiff. People think I have wavy hair! But try different products. My hair is really fine. Depending on what type of hair you have, this might not provide enough hold for you. And there are a lot of different thickening and scrunching products out there!

I first go through my hair with a towel and get rid of all of the excess water. Then I flip my hair over and begin scrunching my hair with some volumizing mouse. I do this all over my head until I see alot of texture throughout my hair. My hair is pretty straight also, so when my hair is almost dry, I go through it with a very small curling iron and make a few loose curls (or loose waves) just to make it look a little more volumized and pretty! :) I hope this works for you. I finish off with some shine spray to tame the frizzes.

all of the products the other girls suggested are great, what i do is put in my product, and useing a difuser attachment on my blowdryer, dry my hair upside down, scrunching it til it is mostly dry.
then i flip it back over and spot dry, and use spray gel, scrunch and dry with the B.D.
gives a great scrunched look!

you can get a difuser at wal~mart for like 15 dollars!

Wash your hair. DON'T BLOW DRY! Put in some kind of crunch gel, or curl gel. Then use ur blow dryer and scrunch your hair with your hands, just flip your hair and keep scrunching it, till it gets curly/scrunched.
Also, you can get a scruncher.
No matter what you do, I'd recomend some kind of gel ... and to finish off with hair-spray, or a shiny spray, to make it stay =]

I've always had trouble doing this, I've tried many ways. the best way to do it is when your hair is wet. then gel it (i use L.A. Looks) then scrunch it. let it dry out a little and then hairspray it and scrunch it just a little bit.

hair spray, mousse, gel

after applying just scrunch your hair in your hands and hold for a little until the product starts to dry and hold shape, it also can help to lean over and let your hair fall upside down.

my hair is crazy, sometimes straight, then sometimes wavy, but wen i want it to look curly, i take a shower and comb my hair, then i put it up in a TIGHT bun [now dont make it perfect, just put it up]..and i let my hair dry..then b4 i take it out i put a lot of hair spray on it..then let it dry, and wen u take it out it looks curlier, and then i just "scrunch" it wit more hairspray or moose, i never use gel =]

I use John Frieda full shine volumizing mousse. I towel dry my hair then flip it over. I put the mousse on my palms and grab parts of my hair all over balling it up in my fists. I flip back, blowdry with cool air, then spray a little of John Frieda starlit waves. Voila! I love all of his products!

id use a little bit of baby oil (in the gel form)-just a drop, and reqular gel of your choosing, and blend it together. Then Id run it through your hair with your fingers. Then I would squish together bunches of the hair until it looks like you want it. The baby oil gel will add a nice sheen and wont make your hair feel as crinkly.
