That is so creepy that I was thinking about asking the same question today. Anyways, yes that has happened to me and it's so embarrassing. A few years ago I was at a store with my parents and I wandered off to the movie section and I found a movie that I wanted to see and I ran back to this guy jumping up and down and saying "Oh my god this is the movie I've been wanting to see forever. We have to buy it, it's so good. Can we get it?" and I shoved it in the guys face but when I saw that he wasn't replying I looked up and realized that it wasn't my dad, it was just some random guy who was looking at me like if I was the weirdest person in the world. I turned so red and I said "never mind," and walked away really embarrassed.

I recently walked into my insurance company...the employees are also friends. There was a man at the counter whom I thought was a close friend of mine. I gave him a full body hug from behind. He turned around and said, "I think I'm going to like living in this town." I laughed and told him I thought he was someone else...he said that he wished he was that guy!

Wow...that's an intense case of mistaken identity. I am sure it was upsetting. One time, a girl insisted I went to Disneyland with her through an organized school function; sat next to her on the bus; and held a lengthy conversation with her...and she was so sure it was me, that when I explained to her that I had never seen her before; she burst into tears and exclaimed that if I didn't want to be her friend, just say so." I never got over that. To resemble someone is one thing...but to be so identical in appearance and speech rattled my cage. They say we all have a twin somewhere...she must have been mine. I often think about that girl and wonder what happened to her.

hahahahahahahaha.......sorry I couldn't help myself. Let me see uhm....oh yeah, one time a long time ago, well maybe three years ago I visited a college campus and as I exited the parking lot I saw a guy walking towards me that I thought resembled my chorus teacher. I walked right in line with his form and as he got closer to me I realized that it wasn't my teacher at all. He saw that we were about to bump into each other and I quickly stepped aside fast enough to avoid the collision but not quick enough to miss the weird look on his face....my walk turned into a power walk which turned into a run......

My husband grabbed some kids running in a store once, he thought they were ours. He was so embarrassed.
Another time his brother had a friend and his girlfriend to our house. They were out back and our kids were playing out back. The girlfriend resembled me. He told her to go get the kids and take them inside, when she didn't respond, he shoved her by the shoulder and said go get the the kids. The funny thing is she started to go before my husbands brother told the girls boyfriend, "He thinks she's his wife."
That was years and years ago and I still laugh.

One time as a kid we took a family trip to Crater Lake. All the hotel rooms looked alike. I went into the wrong room.. made myself at home.. Started reading the funnies.. Then the real guests of that room came in.. I freaked.. I remember them yelling.. "hey LITTLE GIRLLLL....LITTLE GIRRLLL" Scared the crap outta myself and never told a soul.
