I'm 14 years old, I'm 66 inches tall, medium-framed, very muscular, and I weigh 113 pounds. The thing is, I went to check my body fat, and it's at only 10.2 percent. I am very active and fit, so is that ok?

Also, I exercise for 1 to 3 hours a day, I only eat lean meats, most of my meals consist of fruits and veggies, and I eat multi-grain bread and rice. My biggest meal is breakfast, I have around 120 cals at lunch, and I eat less than 100 cals at dinner. I counted how many calories I burnt one day and I dicovered that I was only eating 10% of the calories I was burning! It really freaked me out. I'm a health freak, though. So it's really hard for me to like the taste of more fatty things. Could you help me out, please? Some recipies would be awesome. I love Chicken and Tuna.

You are not eating enough. You are still growing at the age of 14 and need to make sure you are taking in enough calories. If you biggest meal is breakfast and you are taking in 600-800 calories, then you are ok. But if not, you are malnutritioned.

Try eating more fibers like grains. Oatmeal is good, rice or pilaf is good, eggs are good.

I would suggest talking to your doctor. A doctor would know more about the percentage of fatty foods you might need to add to your diet or whether it's a matter of just eating more calories not necessarily fatty calories.

One of my favorite recipes when I was racing motorcycles was grilled chicken with rice. I would put a chicken breast that was seasoned with a little salt and pepper and something like Mrs. Dash on a George Forman grill until it was done. Then I would put it over white or brown rice. The rice was a quick source of energy and the protein in the chicken provided lasting energy to make it through my races.

You don't necessarily need to eat really fatty things. But it wouldn't hurt if you added a little peanut butter to a banana for a snack, or ate some nuts when you're hungry. Maybe add a couple more veggies to your dinner or something. Eating healthily is definetely not a bad thing, just make sure you don't get anorexic; teenage girls should be consuming about 1,900 - 2,000 calories daily. You're definetely way too low!

Seriously relax. At 14 you should be growing and not worrying so much about body fat index. As for recipes why don't you try to make your own? That may take your mind off the calorie counter so you can actually be a kid and enjoy the food.

Ya that's ok. That's great. Average is 15% body fat. I don't know if I can help you. You do seem like a health freak. You'll probably live a long time :)

honey you are too young to be a nutritionist i'm glad you are eating healthy and exercising but i am a little concerned about your obsession w/ your body fat and the calorie counting --eat right and exercise and don't obsess about it so much be a teenager and enjoy life.
