Perishable means it can only be kept for a certain amount of time,but most perishable foods has a USE BY DATE on the label ,and its best to eat right after purchase or shortly after. Make sure when purchasing perishable items ALWAYS check the use by date!

Most foods are perishable. Any food that spoils or molds is perishable...fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, dairy products, meat, etc.
