There's nothing to worry about.Only the first months are more difficult, because you don't know who you are dealling with.
You only have to be open and relaxed.Making friends is effortless, because almost anyone will want to meet you.
By the way ,the next years are the easiest.

The fact that you are going to a new school open the doors to countless possibilities. You can have a fresh start without carrying along elementary and middle school baggage. Chances are, all of the other freshman will feel out of their element, too. Be friendly to everyone. Make a point of talking to someone new in every one of your classes. They will be happy to have someone else take the initiative and start up a conversation. And they will be flattered that you chose them to talk to. You can make tons of friends in no time at all.
If you aren't sure how to start up or maintain a conversation, hit the library or a book store. There are tons of books about the art of conversation written for people in service industry jobs. The advice and tips in these books will give you the skills and confidence you need to start your high school years off on the right foot.
Good luck and have fun!

I haven't been in H.S. for forever now , graduated in '93(shhhhh!)but let me tell you this, everyone who is going into high school is just as scared as you, even the popular kids, even the dorks, just keep your head up and let the confidence of who you are shine through. Who cares if you weren't that popular, after all these high school days are over its the real world that really matters, although that makes no sense to you right now ,it will much later. You'll be great, smile, make new friends ,and have the best four years possible. How can you go wrong with that?

Hey, wow I remember that feeling. I'm in my 5th year of college right now, but that freshman year of high school seems like yesterday. I didn't go to the same kind of high school you are going too, but the nerves are the same. I was a new kid at my school, and definetely not that popular. But, what you are going to find out as you get older is that the things that are popular to all your friends right now, won't be popular in about 4 years. And a lot of times, people who are unpopular throughout middle school really find themselves and have a great time in college and stuff.
So, don't be worried that all your friends won't be with you. You will make new friends sooo fast. Just be yourself, and be nice to everyone. Life is too short not to be. Try to get involved in something like a club or organization at your new school. Find stuff you are interested in to occupy your time, and you will have a blast and meet people that way. Work really hard in school, when you start applying to colleges you won't regret it at all.
But like I said, just be yourself, don't be afraid to try something completely out of your comfort zone. You will make it and you will look back and be proud of yourself! Good luck!

Just be yourself and have a good time. I am a high school teacher and I know how hard the first couple days can be... don't worry.... A LOT of kids get nervous. Work hard and join some extracurricular activities to meet new people. You will do great!! :)

That's awesome you'll be getting your CNA & EMT certs. Just have a good time with all the new found freedom you'll have being in high school. High school is a time to explore. You'll have all sorts of new electives, and be exposed to new people and activities.

Having your friend is great! Share the experience and keep in mind the other kids coming in are also scared. Focus on what you are accomplishing and try not to worry so much about the "popular" group - usually they are hiding their insecurity too. Laugh and joke, relax and see this as one step closer to what you are doing - which is great walking out with two liscenses. I am impressed beyond belief. Go for it!!!

If any one is being rude to you do not take it personally..do not give these idiots a reaction to they're comments, this is all they need to keep giving you crap.
Get involved in clubs; does not matter which ones as long as you enjoy them.
Have fun, don't take anything too seriously and know that KNOW ONE is better than you! We just let them think they are.
