We have remodeled our bed room. Wainscoting around the room with a small chair rail and textured/ paintable wall paper on top. The wainscoting and chair rail are painted "shade tree green" a sagey green color/ the top is painted "muted gold". I love it, but the wood veneer doors look funny to me. I want to paint them and DH wants to leave them. Which do you think would look best and which color if painted? Thanks!

We have low ceilings so the trim around the ceiling and the door trim are muted gold.

ugghh! I forgot the trim around the bottom part of the door is the same green as the wainscoting.

I WOULD PAINT THE DOORS IF THEY ARE GOING TO LOOK OK FROM BOTH SIDES. I PAINTED ALL MY WOOD TRIM YEARS AGO BECAUSE IT WAS ALL SO DARK AND I NEVER REGRETTED IT. YOU CHOOSE THE COLOR YOU WANT BUT I WOULD DO THE BIGGER AREA THE MAIN COLOR SO YOU DON'T HAVE A TERRIBLY `BUSY` PAINT JOB. I'M JEALOUS OF YOUR WAINSCOTING! HAVE FUN!

I would just leave it. Cause once you paint the door, then you are gonna think the door looks funny inside a door frame a different color and then you are also gonna want to do the floor board cause that won't match either. Plus, when you paint a door, depending on how many coats you end up adding, you can end up with a door that no longer closes properly.

I'd go with the same color that the wainscoting and chair rail are.

Door should be painted same color as trim around the door.

i think the look of painted doors is great! maybe a slightly darker green would be nice. just make sure you do a really smooth paint job for that wonderful look. take down the doors to paint! happy decorating!

white doors, and white molding always looks so crisp and clean. Make sure you include the closet and you prime and sand first so you don't have chipping or stain seeping through your new paint job.

Leave it white.. If you go with white, it will keep the room looking traditional,,,, I think thats what you want.... right?
