Ok I haven't said anything to jake but i thought i should just not talk to him so how long does it take for him to realize that i don't want to talk to him? By the way jake is the guy i like really like but i'm trying to get over him!!!

Why don't you just tell him what you are doing.....Hey buddy I am trying to get over you can you please give me some space......I really love you but what we have is not the direction I thought that we should be going....there are so many ways to talk to someone and be more affective then ignoring him.

If you really like him well thats can to be hard if you haven't talk to him in a year he will know you dont want to if you haven't talked to him in11 month's he will no you don't want to talk to him if you haven't talked to him in 9 months he probably wont want to talk to you
but to save all of this time of wondering just tell him you don't want to talk to him but if you like him then why don't you not want to if he is with another girl dont worry about it

Look, if your very attractive with a nice personality, he'll possibly pursue you even moreso. Men for the most part like a challenge so ignoring him will make you more intriguing.

it takes as long as it takes you to tell him.
Don't say you're trying to get over him.
just say, "i'm moving on, and i'd like to cut ties with you"
Or the like.
Tell him only enough to let him know that what you are saying sticks.
It never works trying to get over someone when they are still right there.
