He's about 19 months old, and he's 95 pounds. He's about 25 inches high on his four paws, and he's almost as tall as I am (5'1) when he stands up! He has gorgious markings, and he's stunning. Everytime I walk him, people say he's beautiful and say the best boxer they've seen. What should I do?

Sure, give it a shot. There are many practice shows and breed handling classes where you can handle him yourself and learn a lot.

Go to www.akc.org and click on "events" for a list of shows in your area.

Boxers are a very competitive breed, so you may need to hire a professional handler if you want to get a championship.

*CAN* you show the dog? Is it AKC registered? FULL regstration? SHOW QUALITY??? Intact? READ the BREED STANDARD!

You need to go some shows (W/OUT the dog!) & watch the boxer classes,TALK to some exhibitors & PLEAD w/them to evaluate your dog. Don't let your feelings get hurt. VERY FEW dogs are show/breeding quality & anybody who has experience can go over the dog & give you an honest answer.

That's a VERY competetive breed & a dog has to be high quality & WELL HANDLED to compete. Each entry runs about $20 nowdays. Jnior classes may be a better bet. *YOU* are evaluated instead of the dog & learn the skills you'll need in the future.
It can a lot of fun & lead to life of dogs..

Boxers are a 'head breed' and it can be very hard to finish a Boxer if it doesn't have a correct head, is not short coupled, and doesn't have the right markings. You need to ask some Boxer breeders for their opinion, contact some in your area.

Also study the standard, available on the AKC website.
