It's not a car, it's a truck and/or van and the Ram is the symbol of Dodge. In addition, if there was anything that should be called Dodge, it's a big truck like that coming at you. And, if you don't get out of the way fast enough, you will be at the bad end of the Ram. Good question!!

The Ram is a fast, sure footed and strong mountain sheep. It is a handsome animal associated with the outdoor life.
The Ram is not a car it is a fast, sure footed and strong truck. It is a good looking truck capable of going out into the rough countryside, and pulling your boat or camper as well.
Good enough for me.
;-D Wish I had a Ram - to drive!

RAM TUFF just a play on words for sales, The tougher it sounds the more they sell! How many trucks do you think they would sell if they called it something soft or pretty, They focused on men 25 to 45 for their sales pitch.

It's just a marketing ploy, like most names. Ram sounds tough. Why does Cadillac use 3 digit names like CTS, STS, DTS, etc..? It's marketing again, because other lux cars do this and they want to play off of that.

ok look at it from this point, a ram can go just about anywhere(moutians, hilltops,etc.). so if a dodge truck can go anywhere, why not name it after a animal that has the same ability as the vehicle.

probably the same reason we see all the other names out there for vehicles,,and the ram is a truck,,it is supposed to stand for toughness.
