Having been in places that don't have ANY...I can say for certain I do like seats. On the other hand, I prefer the hard ones because they're easier to clean. The softer ones are really cushy on one's butt but have the tendency to smell a bit if you have small children in the house that "miss".

I prefer a hard toilet seat for a couple reasons. One reason being I feel a hard seat can be kept more sanitary. I'm assuming a soft seat has a more porous surface that can allow germs to get trapped in it easier or if there is a tear in the seat everyone's butt germs get into the tear and you can't really sanitize it. Even if it is only your butt sitting on the seat day after day, yuck...it's like trying to clean a filthy sponge. hmmm...I sound a little germaphobic. Another reason is a hard seat encourages me to get my business done and move on and I'd imagine it's easier to get comfy on a soft seat and take your good ole time! heh

Hard.
I'm creeped out by soft ones and ones with soft covers on them. You can't properly sterilize a soft toilet seat like you can a plastic one. There is so much more crevices and surface to wipe. I just don't trust them at people's houses.

Hard seat for me. Reasons being..... the soft ones make my tush sweat and therefore stick to the seat if I am there for a few minutes. Some of them also have that nasty seamline that is scratchy. They also have a tendency to crack over time. Only crack I want on that toilet is mine. The other ones are painful to my tushy flesh! Nah I think I will stick to the basics and sit on the hard seat.

A hard one, soft ones give me the feeling of being dirty or something. Like more bacteria can accumulate.

Interesting question... it really doesn't matter to me, but I think the soft seats are too squishy.

gotta go with hard..sometimes the soft ones get tears and then the a sharp end of the cover pokes you in your ***...its a serious design flaw
