Bill - I can't imagine what kind of knucklehead would think taxi driving is easy - it's one of the fastest ways to get robbed or murdered that there is. We don't like (figuratively speaking) being "taken for a ride" when the driver takes the slowest route for a short distance and makes some feeble excuse for it, but I can't imagine anyone thinking it is an easy way to make a living. It's dangerous, and the driver never knows who or what kind of psychopath will be getting in.

Because people who take taxi's often, take naps during the ride.
They think it is just about putting on the meters and making money. I drove a cab to help me pay my way through college. I got held up once, talked my way out of another and once when I smelled danger, I ran three red lights in a row to draw the attention of the police. It is hard work.

It is not easy and it's not for lazy people. I drove taxi for 7 years and I loaded and unloaded my share of groceries-kids-elderly people and people with walking disabilities. Not that I minded of course,but some of those people were quite heavy. Some people I hauled around would only shop once a month for groceries,and that's alot of trunk space filled.

i dont think it is easy...well i think easy for lazy ones only....
srvy shows cause of the long shift and lack of activity,many taxi drivers die from heart related diseases.eg CHD, atherosclerosis,joint pain...etc.
trust me it is not E-A-S-Y

I don't think it is....I just get pissed when they take longer routes so they can get more money
