okay, so you walk straight up to a y intersection. one of the path leads to a pot of gold, and the other path leads to death. you do not know which path leads to where.there are two people standing there. they are both twins. one tells the truth if you ask them a question, and the other one will lie. you only have one question you can ask them. what would you ask? and why?

If this path leads to the gold would you lie to me and tell it it doesn't? Both would answer No. the one who tells the truth wouldn't lie telling you he would not lie about it. The one who lies would say no if it was the path to the gold.

Are they twins of each other or twins of someone else you did not specify
I would ask them if your a liar the one who lies will say no and the on who doesn't lie will be truthful then you would ask the one who doesn't lie to point to the path that has the gold he doesn't have to answer you with words all he has to do is point

You ask either one, "If I were to ask you, 'Does this path lead to the gold?' would you say 'yes?'"
If it's the person telling the truth, they'll answer the truth, obviously...if it's the liar, there are two questions in there...they'd answer the first with a lie, but then they have to lie about what their answer would be, so whatever they tell you is correct.
