I am taking a 4 hour state exam (CA LCSW) that consist of all multiple choice questions in a few months (which I am not very good at). I will appreciate any feedback or suggestions on any useful strategies (e.g. elimination, guessing, etc)!

be sure you read the question a couple of times and understand what the question is asking you.
Don't get lost in all the extra wording. If the sentence is really long, break it down. Whats the subject? Whats the verb? subtract the extra wording and get to the real question.

If you hit a question that you just can not figure out, mark it "c" and then move on to the next question.
When you get done with the test go back over and review your answers, esp your c answers. If you are still lost, leave the answer at C.

Yes. Go through and answer all the questions you know or don't have to think about. Then go back and start on the more difficult ones. You will be surprised to learn you knew more than you thought you did. This will bolster your resolve to get through the rest of the test. If you don't know an answer; then work your way through the process of elimination. Be as prepared as possible before the test...and then relax as much as possible. Breathe deeply, hold it...and then exhale slowly...this will release some of your tension or if you feel yourself becoming anxious...and the four hours will fly by...mostly because your mind is fully engaged during the process. Good Luck!
