Ok, so here's the deal. My girlfriend and i were together for 7.5 years...since we were 16. Neither of us ever had a real relationship with anyone else. After about 7.5 years we started fighting and bickering about everything...and we would also fight about mistakes that we both made in the past. This led to us taking a "break"...planning on eventually getting back together. The problem was me, i never gave her our time apart...i kept pushing(always wanting to hang out, asking her where she's been and who she was with). I guess i was like this because i was scared that she would find someone else. But anyway, we started our break about 3 months ago, and i have been pushing pretty hard the whole time, and now i think i completely screwed things up. She's kind of seeing a new guy, and im afraid she's gonna completely forget about me and we'll never be back together. If i dont call/ text/ bother her(stop pushing so hard) will this make her miss me and want to be back together?? HELP!!!!!

If you really love and care about her, you should do something realistic instead of playing mind games. Let her know your true feelings and get over with it.

I agree totally with what the dude above me said. Also, you guys dated for 7.5 years. Now tell me that isn't a successful relationship! So don't think that you didn't make an impact in her life, because you did. About 7.5 years worth, and that is a chunk my friend. Im kind of in a similar situation (except the girl i dated had an abusive/controlling ex-boyfriend, who she broke up with about 4 times over and went back to even though we had an incredible time together. I know she misses me, and Im not going to contact her either). So yes, leave her alone. Be scarce in her life. Texting lets you control the tone and establish what kind of conversation you want to have. Learn here https://tr.im/exbackguide
This is probably the most important part. With texting, you can stop and think about what you want to say to your ex at each step of the way. Instead of reacting emotionally, you can take your time, figure out the right thing to say (I’ll give you most of it), and be strategic with your ex without saying something that you’ll regret.

hey man im i little bit older than you but age wont matter and ive been married before i had the same thing happen to me. i broke up with my girlfriend of 71/2 years and i could not take it, i was so depressed but i kept pushing her and not leaving her alone and it worked for awile but i could see it was not going to work forever.
then i stopped pushing her but i just sat around being depressed and she started seeing other people, but i told myself as long as she was happy i could go on being depressed. man thats no way to live one morning i just said **** it and started to find a way to get dates but most of all i started living again.
now for 1 year almost i have met a number of girls and even went on 2 vacations with 2 different girls and i now have a life. but the one thing that has happened is that my old girlfriend who did not want notrhing to do with me wont leave me alone and now knows what she has lost. dude i could get her back and thats what i wanted last year but hell no she can go on with her shitty life, i dont want that for her but. i just saying man dont stop living your to good for anyone that dont want you around just keep living man dont give up on life for anyone. GOOD LUCK
