Give your dog a flea bath, and use either Advantage, Preventix, or FrontLine. All of those are availabe from your vet and should keep the fleas off your dog. To keep them off you, get flea powder, spread it on any and all carpets, let it sit for about 15 minutes then vacuum it up.

Keep the grass in the yard cut and spray pesticide to keep them from coming back. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will.

Fleas can get on you but since humans are less hairy than animals it is easier to get them off. What I would be more concerned about is if you have carpet. Fleas can infest a carpet and make your life miserable. My house got infested a few times and they are hard to get rid of.

First thing is to get a flea collar for your dog. Spend some money and get a good one. Then there is flea shampoo you should bath your dog in. There is also some drops that you can put on your dog that can kill fleas.

Make sure you are looking for flea specific treatments. They are a hardy pest and generic pesticide collars might not work.

Killing the fleas on your dog and making sure they don't get into your house is the best way to avoid being bitten. Flea bites aren't really that bad, just irritating. It is like a mosquito bite.

The only thing you can do to avoid being bitten is to get rid of the fleas. If you haven't already, you MUST get your dog to a vet. Fleas are not just annoying to pets, they can cause parasitic infections like tapeworm. Your vet will give you a medication to kill the fleas on your dog, and also information on how to get rid of them in your house.

But for starters, you'll need to thoroughly vacuum EVERYTHING in your house -- now and then also again after your dog has completed treatment. Everything including the furniture, drapes, etc. needs to be cleaned. You can also try flea bombs (Home Depot will have them), though these are pretty toxic and should be a last resort. If nothing works, you'll have to get a professional exterminator in to take care of the problem.

But get your dog to the vet ASAP if you haven't already. That's the first step for sure.

Off and Cutter insect repellent will keep them off of you. I would, however, try to eliminate the source. You should give your dog a flea bath and treat your yard with a good insecticide. You also may have to treat your carpeting inside the house. If they bother you, just think about how your dog must feel.

After having ur dog treated by a vet make sure when u bath her/him use dawn dishwashing liquid. Not much , when u bath the dog let the soapy water stay on for about 10 min or so. Also u can use Avon skin so soft oil to bath the dog in. (I also smells great.)

Not sure about for you. But I know that by giving her a bath in vinegar will kill them. Hope this helps
