I really think that a lot of the religious posters to this question need to step back and ask themselves "what" in fact the truth is. It sounds like a lot of us don't have a very high idea of truth.

In the Church it is recognized that Jesus Christ Himself is the Truth. If this is the case then we do not and cannot "have" the truth like we have an idea or any mundane object. The truth is not a book- not even THE Book, though it may be found through it.

We are called to enter into Truth and, reciprically, to have the Truth enter into us. This is not a one time event. This entering must be deepened and broadened our entire life so that we ourselves are more and more transformed to the likeness of this Truth. The means and methods of this are many, including baptism and keeping the commandments found in the Decalogue.

Dear Questioner: Yes, there was a time when I had all those issues as part of my religion experience. Then, still not able to resolve the very troublesome issues of sin in my life, I finally resorted to a severe review of what it meant to please GOD. In other words, I went back to the Hebrew Source text to see if I could figure out why there was this terrible discrepancy in my life, and the life style of so many Christians from that which the Hebrew Scripture says is possible. After learning the Hebrew language, imagine my shock as I learned that the present KJV was so full of errors, mistranslations and in the case of the New Testament, actual fabrications and plagiarism of pagan doctrines, anyway, each time I found an issue of how the God of Israel spoke truth to Israel on the matters of sin,,,it was always, and still is,,,,,for simple REPENT,,,,turn from the sin, and return to God and Keep the commands. And you know what, its possible. BUt the matter of having SOme ONE ELSE, get your sins covered, is not correct...its a pagan cult practice...Jesus dying for your sins is actually a FORBIDDEN practice as far as the GOD of Israel declares....human sacrifice being an abomination and worship of a man, is blasphemy. Once I got that figured out,,,and rejected all the CHristian doctrines of Original SIn, and the idea that I needed an Intermediary person to die for my sin,,,,,and took personal responsiblility for my sin, and REPENTED, and asked GOD for His forgiveness.....and began to keep the Commands that GOD gives the Gentiles...guess what my friends.....the issues of Baptisms and Tongues and sacrifices for sins all became moot...in other words no longer applys because GOD in Mercy forgives and according to MICAH...who, does good, observes mercy and walks humbly with GOD,,,is going to find Peace for his/her soul. SIncerely
