Definitely go see a doctor, you could have some type of medical condition. You could just have a skin condition like psoriasis, or the two things might not even be connected.. You could have very bad dandruff making your head itchy and some kind of hormone problem making your hair fall out... your doctor will determine if you need to see a dermatologist or not.

For the itching and flaking.. make sure you are rinsing your shampoo out completely.

Definitely do not use over the counter dandruff products. If you have an itchy scalp, buy something with tea tree in it. This will help soothe your scalp. I like Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo. This will soothe your itchy head until you get a chance to get to the doctor. Brush your hair when it is dry, this will help remove loose hair without breaking what you have left.

Over the counter dandruff products strip your top layer of skin off ( the layer that is flaking) and voila! no more flakes.. so you stop using it and the flakes come back.. this is because, like any scrape or cut where the top layer is scraped off, it flakes as it heals... so you start using it again and it starts the whole painful process all over again.

Your hair falling out is not a sign of having cancer.. it is a result of chemo treatment for cancer. It is more likely a skin or hormonal problem which are usually easily fixed or at least easily maintained.

Your hair will also not fall out if you color/perm/curl/style it too much or if your ponytail is too tight. It will break off, but you will still have very thick hair up by your scalp.. this is an old wives tale people try to use to keep their daughters from doing things like this.

It could be a number of reasons. The first person to ask is your doctor. You could have some underlying health problem you're not aware of.

If you take any medication, this can cause hair loss. Itchy scalp...I can't really say unless I saw what it looked like. Best bet is start with your doctor.

Well if you wear a hat alot, they say that actually makes your hair fall out. They also say that using a 2-1 shampoo/conditioner is bad for your hair as well.

Stress can cause hair to fall out, u should use a mild shampoo and try not to comb your hair so often n keep it short.
