风Feng (wind) 水Shui (water) is the Chinese art of arranging one's living space so that it maximizes your life quality. It has to do with placement of your home with regard to NSEW axis as well as the direction your home faces. Within the home, and then within your room, there are spaces dedicated to different aspects of your life. Depending on the year, you can put lucky charms in certain parts of the room to maximize that part of your life.
For example, there is a "money" section, so if you want more money than you can put charms in that spot of the room. You can also put a fan in the good spot to blow the good vibes around the room.
There are bad spots as well which you will need to avoid or put charms in to prevent bad things from happening.
There are also elements - fire, water, earth, gold, and trees - which can be used to counteract bad spots.
I don't think it will affect you unless you think it will. As far as I have seen, most of my Chinese friends do not use feng shui. It is more common in Hong Kong.
