Actually, they've greatly expanded the ability to deport summarily, so this wouldn't necessarily apply. I don't think anyone is saying sweep up 20 million people in one month, or even one year. They are saying enforce our laws, ask for proof of legal residence at times people don't now ask, and deport those who are actually determined to be here illegally.

As for me, if the border were secure and the system were fixed going forward, I would just say deport those 302,000 this year estimated to be destined for our county and state jails, and those in the future who find themselves there, and give a special conditional permenant residence to screened illegals (with no ability to bring in absent family except under existing legal quotas). After 5 years if they aren't in jail and have been screened the conditional part of the permenant residency goes away, but still they can only bring in family under legal quotas. If they are found abetting illegal aliens in the future, they would be deported.

One third of the illegals here today are estimated to be family of those given amnesty in 1986.

Deportation and the construction of a border are a one time cost.

Social Services for all of the illegals is ongoing.

Even the increased expenditure for the manpower to patrol the border would be less than the annual expense of illegals.

I'll vote for a tax increase if it will secure the borders and kick the illegals out, but I'll be damned if my taxes go to feed one more goddamn anchor baby.

Why bother with courts?  You don't try (most of) them, you just take their pictures and fingerprints and deport them.  Most illegals will leave on their own so that they don't get a record as an illegal entrant and lose a chance for a legitimate visa.

If you say that's not so, you're wrong.  It happened in 2002, when the US cracked down on illegal Pakistanis.  15,000 were deported, and about 150,000 bought their own tickets home without waiting for the INS.

If you seriously cracked down on illegal immigrants in the USA (like arresting ones using forged documents, fining employers as much as the law allows, etc.) you'd see a stream of fully-loaded buses headed south through Texas and California

thats a racist question u know......cuz people from minorities are the only ones picking oranges. Most of the homeless people i see on the street are usually white so atleast minorities aren't lazy and are actually working.

Who cares about those oranges or the Workers. Plenty still have orange groves and other people to pick them. We will plant more. Good they can go home. Plenty of other farms around.

DUH Blunt--it don't hurt us a bit. All of the law breakers could go home and it won't
affect the average American. We don't need them-they need us.

No need for judge and jury ... apprehend, identify if possible, fingerprint, and send home ... just make sure we have a working bus fleet ... maybe we should invest in more buses ... :)
