Once you turn 18 you are an adult and can make your own decisions... you might have trouble finding a doctor in TN who will perform the operation though... they mostly seem to be pro-life....rabidly pro-life.... in fact if they find out that you want a tubal ligation they just might kill you for it. (OK that was a joke).

because the others said, it relies upon on the physician. My OB did mine, i'm 27 and characteristic 2 little ones, a boy and a lady. i became heavily regretting it excellent after I had it executed in the time of my c-section, yet i imagine it became extra to do w/ hormones and the PPD I have. Lol. it is been 7 wks of little sleep considering the fact that then, and that i'm completely content cloth to no longer might want to rigidity about contraception anymore. i comprehend my OB gained't do it formerly the age of 25. besides the undeniable fact that, it is because there is an more desirable occurrence of girls wanting hysterectomies at the same time as executed formerly the age of 30. i do not comprehend why, if it heals and leads to tubal pregnancies or what, yet I study that some weeks in the past, and choose i'd time-honored that formerly having it executed, i'd of waited merely to be probability-free. Do analyze. at the same time as coverage will regularly pay for a tubal, it would not pay for a reversal, and it expenses about 8k to get it reversed do you would possibly want to regulate your recommendations. sturdy success!

I think it is 21 and/or 3 kids. I just met both requirements, but I opted NOT to have it done.
All the docs in my area (NWTN) are perfectly willing to perform the operation if you meet these requirements. In fact, a couple have seemed a little overeager but that could just be because I was so against it (for myself of course because I want one more in about 6 years).

I was 21 and had 2 kids before they would do it. You have to have at least 2 children to have it done. I would say that you should be at least 21 years of age also.

There are not age laws regarding surgical procedures in Tennessee, however, there are laws regarding the supplying of birth control to children.
You and your doctor (adn maybe your parents?) need to sit down and have an open discussion.

I'm not sure about TN but here in MO it's 21. I had 2 kids at 19 and they wouldn't do it. Sad, really. Some states it's 25. Just ask your OBGYN or regular doctor - she will know.

You have to be 21. I was married, with two kids and they still wouldn't let me. When i turned 21 I couldn't wait.
