Yes!!!!!!!!!!, it really piss me off so much that I usually SHUT THEM UP. I don't care if I'm being rude, I pay to watch a movie and it's not fair at all not to be able to listen to it just because people can't be quite for a couple of hours.

Yes, as a matter of fact, it does. I hardly go to the theatre any more because of this.
I think they talk because they are accustomed to being at home with videos and DVDs and can talk at home without any problems. These people bring their "home" manners to the theatre and forget that others around them aren't interested in their conversations.
I also think that more and more many people are inconsiderate and don't care. They want to talk, they will talk. No matter what.

Yes it annoys me, but not as much at the teenagers who can't seem to SIT through a 2 hour movie. I saw Divinci Code a few weeks ago and the same group of girls must have entered and exited the theater 4 times, making a ton of noise each time. If you can't sit quietly for a movie, maybe you shouldn't go.
The guy behind me snoring didn't help much either, thankfully he left half way through the movie.

No... because I am an offender. I talk while in the movie theater, about the movie of course. I've always viewed movie and television watching as a social activity. I've always seen it as you're supposed to get involved and it's fun to make jokes or talk about the characters, or express the feelings the movie invokes, to the person sitting next to you. "Oh my god I'm so scared!" or, "Why the hell is she going to get in that hole with all of those snakes!", or "Who was that guy again? Why does she like him, he's busted!".
I can see why others find this SO obnoxious I suppose, but I have fun and have always thought that that is what one should do while watching something on the screen. I guess I know I am wrong, but I think just sitting there with no interaction is kind of boring... or not totally boring, but not as fun as interacting.

It's OK if they talk a little and whisper. But it seems I always get stuck with people sitting right behind me that are not just talking but translating the whole movie into Russian.

Yes, it pisses me off a lot. It's not polite. I paid to see the movie, not listen to people talk.

yes, it pisses me off a lot.
i pay to see movies, and i think anyone who talks loudly during a movie is completely stupid and deserves to die a long, drawn-out, and very painful death.

they do it because they are just plain inconsiderate . between that , and the unsupervised children , it almost seems better to wait for the dvd .
cheers !
